Old fag here.

I actually saw it with three Vietnam vets when I was a kid

They liked it, felt it was fairly accurate

the ones that portray them as murderous raping criminals who have no business there

so platoon then?

Apocalypse now of course

It is one of the only instances where the most famous work of a "genre" is also the best

I personally dislike Malick but i can see why someone would like thin red line more.

is Forrest Gump the only movie that uses the song? im not aware of any others

You mean accurate as in like a truthful documentary kind of thing, or conveying what it would've felt like?

Lol I laughed my ass off when they used in it war dogs, black ops uses it.

>OP makes the thread
>user posts this
>it ain't me starts playing

>OP makes thread
>I was only 19 starts playing

317ème section for indochine war

I am an idiot, my brain died for one second and accepted that thin red line was a nam film because that other user said it. I feel embarrassed

Rouge One

Read about it. I can guarantee you that even the most mediocre book about it will blow any film out of the water.

I fucking hate how limited, useless films are.

Is there any movie about the Vietnam war from the point of view of Vietnamese soldiers or maybe vieatnamese people?

As a German all I come across are US-movies from US-Soldiers point of view. Talking US-Soldiers are translated but most of the time Vietnamese people aren´t translated ... when they are even talking and not just portrayed as a faceless mass of people.

I would love to see a movie from the other point of view.

Any suggestions TV?

Seconded.

i bet you don't even watch kino. you watch some mediocre flicks without trying to go deeper and then you go "muh books"

Film is the greatest medium with the most promise

that is because gooks are like insects. they all look the same and think in a group

Return of the Jedi

Get your yellow fever out of here you fucking kraut

Suicide Squad.

>Film is the greatest medium with the most promise

>It ain't me, babe starts playing

Bookfags are always the worst, they think reading is some special power only they have

I legit recommended him to read a book. I did not say "I'm better than you because I can read a book". I only wanted him to share/get the same experience as I have. I have only started to read about WW2 literature and I've only touched a few books but majority of the ones I've read are better than any film I've seen of the war and I've seen plenty of films about WW2.

But if you want to say no out of some weird "board loyalty" then stay in the abyss created by your ignorance & memes.

This is a fantastic nam book about centered around huey pilots.

>I have only started to read about WW2 literature

you'll get to the actual WW2 literature eventually right?

You had a chance for hell of a Carlos moment but ya blew it. I don't speak English natively so sorry for bad writing.

>I legit recommended him to read a book
Yeah, but you insulted film in the process.
Big no no round these parts, buddy.

> I only wanted him to share/get the same experience as I have.

So you are saying that your "experience" is the truth? You only want the poor man to find some enlightenment! You think you are so fucking good for reading a book and you now have to spread the world to everyone.

fucking nigger, i spit on you

What is Norm Macdonald doing there?

Calm the fuck down autist.

>fucking nigger, i spit on you
holy kek

nice reply you fuck. you can't start with "muh books are better than film hahaha because i say so" on a board dedicated to tv & film and then be a coward. I have won the battle of minds.

Books are better than films, now calm the fuck down.

Actually books are shit. No effort in storytelling whatsoever.

both have been surpassed by the superior media, stop living in the stone age grandpas

I now you are just seething with barely controlled rage now and you are projecting it on me.

No!

everyone isn't as mentally weak as you, bookfag. I am in an transcendent state. I type the hammer that strikes your words down with a clear mind. You pompous piece of shit

for what i hear it's on suicide squad

If only Spec OPs didn't have such shit gameplay man.

This isn't a war movie. Its set during a war but it isn't a war movie.
