Where was the peace and unity when Yugoslavia was going on? The EU's first test at maintaining peace on the continent and it had to call in big daddy America to sort that shit out after it descended into weaponised rape and literal genocide.
NATO is responsible for peace and unity in Europe. Always has, always will. The EU threatens NATO with its ambitions of an EU army.
