I can't stop loving you by ray charles
not sure if it is "country" enough
but you can try Harvest and Comes a Time by neil young
turnpike troubadours and chris stapleton are both good country artists. As for good ole Cash...At San Quentin and At Folsom Prison are his best and their suprisingly live albums. I usually hate live albums but the energy in those recordings are just so fucking insane and hilarious at times. Definitely start with those two
>ray charles
i've never listened to him but i thought he was soul/jazz not country
I don't like country, but this is a great kind of country album.

he is but he dabbled in creating some country songs
pic-related or Waylon Jennings if you need something older
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is p cool.
Dolly Parton is underrated
i've never actually bothered with neil young before but i'm listening to harvest now and it's actually pretty nice
classic
Woody Guthrie
He has huge variety so some of his songs may appeal more than others
if you like Harvest you should watch this

if you want to get a taste of a different style from neil young you can check out stuff from neil young and crazy horse

There's some country that has relevance in other mediums of television that could lead you into that. You could show her Townes Van Zandt, see if she likes it, then you guys can watch the first season of True Detective and fug her.
the easiest way to find modern country that's listenable is to check out the texas music scene channel on youtube
Hank III is the dude. Check out the song Country Heroes
I hate pop country too, but some of the only good country I've heard is older country. I'd recommend Willie Nelson, but others from around the 70s-early 90s era is good, too.
i've always had a soft spot for too far to care by old 97s for more rocky country stuff
