Just saw Hidden Figures, and it's one of the best films I've watched in years - an incredible story of brilliant women who overcame so much in order to send us to the moon.
The film is filled with wonderfully funny "LOL" moments, though I didn't understand all the jokes (white guy here, I admit it).
There were a lot of heart-wrenching moments, and moments that will you make want to clap out loud.
I always clap out loud when I see obese niggers, they're so entertaining
Jack Stewart

Charles Clark
it's ironic that the US can no longer afford its manned space program because of all the money they spend on black people
Brayden Jackson
Is there even a movie about the non-'Hidden Figures'?
Seems a bit weird that people are going to know their names and not who fucking Michael Collins is.
Joshua Rogers
WUZ
Asher Hill
As a closet racist who has been knocked out by a moon cricket for running my mouth, I can agree that it was a tremendous film.
Wyatt Sanders
Do they go to space or does their rocket explode?
Easton Bell
This thread is gonna get 300+ replies, isn't it?
Blake Wilson
It was the first rocket to be composed entirely of lotion and weaves
Grayson Murphy
but Michael Collins had a film
Tyler Rogers
The US needs to have a national dialogue about race and the discussion of essential KANGZ-kino is part of that
Brody Gonzalez
They finally get their rocket working despite setbacks from racist and discriminatory NASA officials. They launch off into the atmosphere alongside the other minority members of the space program, there's a heart-touching moment where a black janitor who dreams of seeing the stars is even allowed to come.
The land on a small rocky planet orbiting Deneb and found a utopia. It's explained in the last few minutes of the film that Earth descends into chaos under European (white) hegemony.

>MFW this flopped critically and box office wise
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Oliver Cruz
Hmm, now this may just be a hunch, but if you ask me, it appears as if OP didn't actually watch the film, and that he's just a *gasp* colossal faggot. Please die.
Jayden Jackson
Is it possible to even discuss this movie without getting banned?
Why do Sup Forums's users get punished everytime hollywood releases politically charged garbage like this?
Carter Williams
they've already made another Obama movie, and I'm guess they'll make many more.
Michael Gray
Literally why, Obama has zero accomplishments. He was a middle of the pack president, he's only going to be known for being black and a bit better than bush. It's ridiculous that he's getting movies while we still have none about Jackson, Polk, and teddy Roosevelt
Joseph Martinez
Omg OP, saw this with my transbian bf and loved it too!! glad were getting past all the white stars and I knew that space exploration probably had something to do with african-americans! so sick of the white washing!!!!
*leaves Rhode Island apartment to go hang out with all white friends*
Adrian Cook
>Is it possible to even discuss this movie without getting banned? Yes. But it's obvious when it's bait or not. This thread is pol falseflagging for example.
Ryder Rogers
Were just trying to talk about this groundbreaking movie. White men have taken credit for EVERYTHING where it's not due. #EqualRepresentation #WeWasKings
James Parker
>groundbreaking movie yeah groundbreakingly bad
Nathan Brooks
So humor me;
Inform me on the proper way to discuss this movie whose primary focus relates to race and gender. Are we literally just supposed to ignore the transparent overarching themes, or are we just expected to politely agree with everything this movie asserts?
Hudson Morris
>pol falseflagging You don't have to be a Sup Forumslock to hate shitty race-baiting movies like this.
Also if you're so obsessed with Sup Forums why don't you go there and stay there?
Leo King
You're supposed to shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down white boy. Didn't you see the resolution video?
Dylan Kelly
Step 1: Actually watch the movie. Step 2: Talk about the movie. Step 3: Problems with the political messages in the movie? Create a thread about those messages, not a shitty bait like OP.
Blake Foster
Or maybe they don't go up there anymore because people would start asking for footage from the other side
Benjamin Price
None of which will ever tell the truth about his upbringing and parentage
Parker Rogers
>Problems with the political messages in the movie
Is revising history a political message?
Bentley Murphy
>wait months for a torrent or pay to promote blatant propaganda >you're not allowed to discuss movies you haven't seen yet >^ Yeah nah you're a cunt. The OP was obviously a sarcastic shitpost but you can't police what other people discuss and if you don't want to talk about politics why don't YOU just not enter threads you don't like?
People are merely reacting to Hollywood shoving their politics into everything. Get used to it and get over it.
Andrew Taylor
The movie hasn't revised history. It's based on a true story. The women in this movie actually existed. Whether or not their roles have been inflated (they were only typical mathematicians) is something I don't know.
Probably so considering it's a movie.
Parker Davis
I'm not policing. This is Sup Forums not Sup Forums. If you want to talk about "propaganda" based on your assumptions then go somewhere else. The race baiting shitposting is getting annoying.
Sup Forums - Television & Film
Eli Watson
>Step 3: Problems with the political messages in the movie? Create a thread about those messages, not a shitty bait like OP. Why am I not allowed to do that in this thread?
Why would creating a second thread solve the issue?
This film is very clearly intended to be both confrontational and politically charged. Why should I expect ANY thread discussing its themes to be different than this one?
Please tell me. I love your expert advice on kino discussions.
Chase Lewis
Is that thing on the right supposed to be inside an astronaut suit?
Jaxson Rivera
The entire movie is race baiting.
The movie is quite literally centered around racial and gendered conflict.
Isaac Sullivan
>This film is very clearly intended to be both confrontational and politically charged That's your interpretation, not a fact. If you're so insecure that a film with black women creates anguish that's a personal problem. Sup Forums is not the board for your mental health.
How can you say that if you haven't watched it?
Isaac Peterson
And this is a movie about 3 black women who did a job hundreds others did too who get a movie based entirely on their race/gender.
The race baiting in media is getting even more annoying and is the root cause of what you are bitching about in the first place. People are literally reacting to it and the fact you're trying to downplay the extremely obvious political tones of movies like Hidden Figures to suit your own agenda is telling.
If you're tired of it hide the threads dipshit. Do you think I like seeing a wall of porn, pedoshit and off-topic spam? No, I hide it and move on.
Nolan Peterson
Show us your papers, you look like a redditfugee or even a neogaffian to me
Ayden Turner
>That's your interpretation, not a fact. So I'm not allowed to discuss my interpretation of the film.
Why?
Xavier Anderson
...
Jason Sullivan
>And this is a movie about 3 black women who did a job hundreds others did too who get a movie based entirely on their race/gender. Why does the race matter? There's tons of movies based on minor roles. Look at Saving Private Ryan. They were just ordinary soldiers on a rescue mission. If these characters were white males you'd have no issue with the movie.
>The race baiting in media Have you considered they just want to make a movie to appease a black demographic? Not everything is race baiting. Why are you so upset some black women get some screen time? How does it affect you?
>literally This board has a problem with overusing this word incorrectly.
>suit your own agenda is telling. Nice assumptions. I lean right.
>If you're tired of it hide the threads dipshit. Do you think I like seeing a wall of porn, pedoshit and off-topic spam? No, I hide it and move on. Yet you're in this thread crying.
Carson Peterson
You are. Just don't present it as a fact.
Juan Cooper
>Why does the race matter? Because the topic of racial conflict comes up numerous times in the film.
You'd know this if you watched it.
Brandon Myers
How is that inaccurate given the time period?
Brody Ross
If I could choose between getting paid to make a sycophantic movie about Obama and not getting paid, I'd get fucking paid.
>he fights the good fight on Sup Forums's Sup Forums board
>Why does the race matter? There's tons of movies based on minor roles. Look at Saving Private Ryan. They were just ordinary soldiers on a rescue mission. If these characters were white males you'd have no issue with the movie. I didn't know Saving Private Ryan was based on a true story you dumb faggot. >Have you considered they just want to make a movie to appease a black demographic? Not everything is race baiting. Why are you so upset some black women get some screen time? How does it affect you? The black demographic and for that matter everyone who isn't a virtue signaling mental case doesn't give a fuck about scientists who did math. Of any race or any gender and you know it. >This board has a problem with overusing this word incorrectly. Read the definition, it's also for emphasis faggot. Does that word trigger you too? >Nice assumptions. I lean right. "I'm right leaning too but..." Yeah, no get fucked. >Yet you're in this thread crying. You're the one crying first and bitching in a thread you don't like. I love making fun of schlock like this especially knowing it's going to bomb at the box office because it has no real demographic. Not even tumblrites watch this shit.
Christopher Smith
It's not inaccurate. It's part of the background and overarching theme of this movie.
Why am I not allowed to discuss the narrative it pushes?

>"It's very now," Henson said. "I think it's a reminder that humans are in this together. It doesn't matter your race, color, or who you sleep with at night. This movie is a reminder of what made America great in the first place." >MonĂ¡e, who plays engineer Mary Jackson, added that the country wouldn't have been able to achieve something "as extraordinary as sending our first Americans into space" if they allowed race and gender to get in the way. >"I think 'Hidden Figures' is so hopeful," she said. "That when we do come together and realize that we all pee the same color, we all bleed the same color blood, once we continue to remember that and keep that in the forefront, that's when we start changing the world. That's when we're at our greatest." >"John Glenn represents the best of who we are as Americans," Spencer, who plays Dorothy Vaughan, NASA's first African-American manager. "This is a love letter to him as well as all the woman who contributed to the space program."
All I'm seeing is a message of unity not race-baiting.
>I didn't know Saving Private Ryan was based on a true story That doesn't change my point. Here's an example of movie (starring white male) based on a true story (minor role).
>The black demographic and for that matter everyone who isn't a virtue signaling mental case doesn't give a fuck about scientists who did math I actually have a lot of black females on my friends list who are stoked over this movie. Not true.
>Read the definition, it's also for emphasis faggot. Does that word trigger you too? Using a word incorrectly for "emphasis" is a sign of low intelligence. Literally. :^)
>Yeah, no get fucked. Not an argument.

Julian Anderson
>Why am I not allowed to discuss the narrative it pushes? You are. Just don't push a false narrative that it promotes "DUDE EVIL WHITE MEN".
David Morris
The fact that this film exists is a hilarious joke and transparent propaganda to make people believe blacks just naturally can become intelligent professionals.
Dominic Ramirez
Looks barely passable as a Lifetime movie.
Lucas Roberts
People love a political scandal, how much did frost/nixon and the other watergate movies make and that was about a little larceny. Obama presented a forged birth certificate and probably isn't even American, I would go see Hitman meets 120 days of Sodom style movie about his early life
Hunter Perez

>>"It's very now," Literally the first 3 words of your post speak volumes more than everything else you quoted.
It's a movie intended to profit off of current racial tensions.
Colton Rivera
Why don't you go watch it before you defend it? I know it's shit because I don't have to guess what's coming out of someone's ass who is squatting.
Your point was insipid and invalid considering like I said the general public doesn't give a fuck about math. The movie isn't about what they actually did it's about racial drama.
>I have a lot of black friends HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Just stop it's sad. And a lie.
Words evolve over time you brainlet.
Saying "I'm right leaning too" isn't an argument either, shit-for-brains.

I don't want to watch the movie. It sounds boring.
>HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA >Just stop it's sad. And a lie. On my friends list user. My facebook. You don't have to be upset reality doesn't match your personal belief. I actually do have two black friends though.
>Saying "I'm right leaning too" isn't an argument either, shit-for-brains. It is when you accuse me of being a liberal.
Jaxon Powell
>complain about Sup Forums in a thread about a politically charged movie >say "I lean right" in an unwarranted manner >"I have a lot of black friends that want to see this movie! Man you claim you aren't a liberal but you are just as retarded and you speak exactly like one. If it quacks like a duck etc.
I don't care what way you lean politically you are retarded as fuck and you should consider suicide.

I'd rather watch a movie about Mulder tripping balls

You just don't have an argument because you are retarded.
Ryan Reyes
>editing the picture to put MAGA on her shirt
Luis Gutierrez
>taking the goal post and moving it to another state your argument is that we shouldn't discuss politics in a "Television and Film" board. Do you not a facebook? I have 300 people on my friend's list. That's a pretty small number in comparison. A lot of people have over a thousand. I only have about 5 people I'd consider actual friends on that list. Good job being so socially awkward you don't even have a facebook.
Not an argument.
No it wasn't. This is what happens when you jump into reply chains.
>This film is very clearly intended to be both confrontational and politically charged That's your interpretation, not a fact. The CNN link that was provided shows no evidence that this movie was made to be "politically charging". Try reading reply chains before jumping into them.

The endgame of every liberal argument.
Jacob James
It's clearly propaganda to posit that "the US is great or has achieved its greatest accomplishments because of embracing multiculturalism and 'looking past race'". That is merely one very politically motivated interpretation of history that deserves just as much criticism as any other interpretation.
Logan Jenkins

>deriding someone for not using social media as an "argument" Are you a girl? I don't think anyone with an ounce of testosterone would use social media in an argument. Not an argument and I do have a facebook with 400 friends but you backtracked on your "multiple black friends" to just 2.
The thing is you are so deluded and you don't see the problem with what you're saying and why it's retarded.
I'm glad to see they have 1 ticket sale because they're going to need bus fare to the unemployment line after the movie bombs hard and you blame it on racism instead of the fact it's a shitty movie made by shitty people with ulterior motives that you adamantly defend by incorrectly denying any racial plot on a Taiwanese finger painting forum.

it's pretty clearly just a harmless family-friendly movie dramatizing the lives of black scientists during a time where pro black lives matter type sentiments sell tickets and get critical praise.
the fact that you view it as hostile to your worldview has more to do with the fact that you and sjw types are opposite sides of the same coin and actively look for things to get offended and chimp out over. see: this thread.

>The film recounts the story of the African-American mathematician Katherine Johnson and her two colleagues, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who, while working in the segregated West Area Computers division of Langley Research Center, helped NASA catch up in the Space Race.[4] Using their calculations, John Glenn became the first American astronaut to make a complete orbit of the Earth.[5]
