I've been going through Radiohead songs and most of them seem too sad and quiet for my taste. Are there any good higher energy Radiohead songs, or are they just not the band for me?
I've been going through Radiohead songs and most of them seem too sad and quiet for my taste...
Electioneering and that one poppy dance track from TKOL is the only really up beat stuff they have ever done (even then it's not the most upbeat sounding stuff). The National Anthem is kinda but not really high energy, too.
2+2=5 might be good
Melancholy has always been Radiohead's niche.
No matter how hard you try, no mere mortal's mind will ever begin to penetrate the rhombus cave of lilac dreams that is Kid A. In fact, Kid A is a broken album. Only one would use its pieces to scar themselves into a sanctuary of flames.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime album. It came at the most perfect time in history, when the world flooded itself with uncertainty and ambiguity. It questioned how life would become with its abstract ideas and esoteric narratives, that truly made it a timeless masterpiece of surrealism. Thom's poignant lyricism, such as the beginning track, harkens back to a past that never happened. It evoked the vision of a wizard trapped inside a bat's eyeball, as solitary punishment for his crass destruction. He paints himself with the three cans of potions, in order to disguise himself from the fangs.
Definitely not the band for you then man.
The Bends
>The Bends
>Bones
>Just
>My Iron Lung
OK Computer
>Electioneering
Kid A
>The National Anthem
>Idioteque
Hail to the Thief
>Go To Sleep
>Myxomatosis
musically high and dry is about as peppy as they get but even then the lyrics are pretty dispiriting. just a downer band in general really
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>niche
Why don’t you just go and listen to Pablo Honey fucking pleb
Over 90% of their lyrics are sad but The Bends is pretty rocking. If you ignore the lyrics, it's a fun album. However, Street Spirit (Fade Out) is one of their most depressing songs.
15 step from In Rainbows makes me going crazy, just like Myxomatosis.
Bodysnatchers from In Rainbows is really upbeat and even fun (unlike Electioneering for example). Thom even said somewhere it was inspired by Wolfmother lol.
But in general, Radiohead doesn't seem like the band for you OP.
listen to There, There off of Hail to the Thief
you'll see the light.

I would consider the whole of OK computer to be relatively high energy compared to the rest of their albums.
That being said, Thom Yorkes falsetto vocal style may still sound slightly depressive at times, perhaps due to his propensity to extend the stanzas by slowly singing each word.
Nah that is something you ain't gonna find in Radiohead
Blackstar
Airbag
Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Lotus Flower
Talk Show Host
Marquiladora
Permanent Daylight
Their only actually happy songs are Separator, Airbag, and Lift
They have a lot of songs like that.
>Bodysnatchers
>Bangers + Mash
>Myxomatosis
>Just
>My Iron Lung
>Paranoid Android
>2+2=5
>Planet Telex
>Electioneering
>Polyethylene (Parts 1 and 2)
>The Trickster
>You
>15 Step
>Jigsaw Falling Into Place
>Go To Sleep
>Where I End And You Begin
>A Wolf At The Door
Some of these may be a little bit sad for you but they are pretty upbeat.
Listen to 15 step, Bodysnatcher, 2+2=5, Burn the witch, Idioteque, Planet Telex, Just, Paranoid Android
Start from 15 steps and see if you can't find something to like
literally just listen to The Bends.
“The kind of guys that I like have to be three things: strange, malnourished, and sad. Those guys always like Radiohead, so I’ve been having to pretend to like Radiohead for years to get these men, even though the music is just, like, elaborate moaning and whining for ring tone sounds.”
—Kat Timpf
i'd say not the band for you but they have some good higher energy tracks.
Lel Radiohead is literally just weird sounds and whining amirite xD?
That joke might have been funny and clever in the early 2000's
Listen to the bends, In Rainbows and certain songs from Pablo Honey (You and Blow Out)
>tfw you could easily fuck kat timpf if you ever met her
