Access points. Kids are sensitive items. Meaning, anywhere kids are, should be considered a sensitive area. In most office jobs, access is restricted on a need to access basis. IT doesn't need regular access to Finance and vice versa. Why the fuck don't we have all students where badges that provide them with access to their classrooms and only their classrooms. Teachers should only have access to the classrooms they teach in. So for instance, a college student has 4 classes in one day. They shouldn't have access to their last class in the morning, and they no longer have access to their first class after it ends. Why is this not being implemented? If I were a security solutions company, I'd be lobbying for this to be mandated in schools and companies doing so ironically must have my exact credentials. I'd be a billionaire.

Active shooters don't have a lot of time, and their goal is to kill as many people as possible. From past experience, we know they don't waste their time checking under every desk and checking in every closet. They wouldn't spend their time trying to open an access restricted door with a badge reader. It's very hard to break open these magnetized door locks. Very hard. Even if they stole someone's, they'd report it and it would no longer be activated. If they stole it and nobody had time to report it, they'd only have access to specific areas, and the active shooter is likely to not even know when and where. If they did, the casualties would be limited to one classroom.

Also, every fucking building with loads of personnel in it should have armed security roving. Back in the day, we'd have towns smaller than most buildings with a full fledged sheriff's office.

I think public shootings should have their crime scene photos released. There is no way that CSI didn't photograph the scene filled with dead bodies. That should be publicly available, why is it not? The FBI isn't even releasing the transcripts of victims' phone calls out of respect for the dead and their families. They're definitely not releasing the photos.

And yes, all crime scene investigators use a nice DSLR and take shots at multiple angles of the area and EACH victim. A coroner would have to pronounce the victim dead for the body to stay, and then the investigator would do their thing, place markers etc, and release the body to the morgue at the local hospital. With as many victims as it was, I could imagine it was a long, tedious process. It normally takes a crime scene investigator a while for just one victim.
