However, at the end of the day that is irrelevant, because MEPs do not form the legislature or executive, unlike MPs in the UK Parliament. Those functions are both usurped by the EC, unelected, unaccoubtale, untransparent, unremoveable. On the EC, Malta has one representative, Luxembourg has one representative, the UK has one representative. You do the maths.
In the UK, the Queen and the House of Lords perform the functions of checks and balances in British democracy. This is what is meant by accountability. They are rubber stamps for our elected representatives, MPs, who make up the executive and legislature of the UK, Government and Parliament respectively.
In the EU is is the exact OPPOSITE. The EU Parliament is the rubber stamp. The EC is the executive and legislature rolled into one neat tyrannical bundle.
THE EU IS NOT A DEMOCRACY.
The EC is the supreme executive and legislative and the ECJ is the supreme judicial authority over the UK. The EU is the state. Remain have not explained to the British people the EU's constitution and why they think it's a good thing. They are concealing the extent of the EU's powers and its agenda for our future. The British public is being hoodwinked and brainwashed into sacrificing democracy, independence, sovereignty and nationhood based on fear, demonisation, martyr-worship and propaganda, the tools of tyrants.
They'll start getting uppity and violent like the tolerant, peaceful leftists they are. They'll then be deported or feel the full extent of the law and find out what having no rights really means.
