When will sub-Saharan Africa catch up?

When will sub-Saharan Africa catch up?

2040-2060

Once they show western organizations the middle finger and start processing their own raw materials instead of just selling them

When they move to europe and turn europe to africa

How can other countries even compete? We're so fucking superior.

They wont catch up, they will drag us down to their level eventually.

What is development?
Korea used to be total shit especially post Korean war an look at them now.

Why is this allowed?

What kind of a GDP growth rates would they need? They're still having like 6 children per family. China has been growing at like 8% average for 30 years while having less children and still have mediocre metrics

+-2050 at this rate.

Well, i will believe it when i see it. Just look at easter youropoors. And it was just 50 years of communism.

Africa? 500+ years of pure niggerism.

The difference is that at least Korea had potential

Korea was rock bottom though.

A lot of parts in Africa is developing pretty well though in recent times.

That's the real map

Eastern Europe was always poorer.

>Correlation => Causation

Korea didn't take foreign aid to the point that local farmers became essentially useless and now they rely almost entirely on said aid

We koreans big heda.
Niggers have small heda Culture of kill.

>Korea didn't take foreign aid to the point that local farmers became essentially useless

Why do people spread this myth so damn much?

>when will niggas catch up?
Soon

When international powers stop intervening. But you know they wont.

Korea received a lot of investment from Japan and the US.

never because climate change will kill their countries in a pair of decades

How does population translate to wealth? It's more mouths to feed.

and more hands to work

Africa isn't one homogeneous place with a centralized government. China get's away with their growth because they can cut corners with human rights and political dissent. they can make a plan and follow through with it and don't have to worry about complaints from the citizens or competition from other political parties.

africa is just a jumble of quasi-democratic and despots with different visions and ambitions which will make it very hard to plan.

a large population is not necessarily a benefit to economies, India has the same population as China and is 5 times smaller in GDP.

This is REALLY outdated lol

>and more hands to work

hands to work what though? without a base for manufacturing or land to work you just have a bunch of mouths to feed who aren't producing anything. they just sit there consuming shit and getting in the way if there is no product to be made or land to be tilled.

Well, we are giving out so much subsidized aid to African countries that local farmers literally can't compete with the "free" goods that come from nations like the US, France and the rest of the 1st world and have been doing so for decades now, meaning that these farmers can't actually find a niche in their respective counties, hence it actually is a detriment to the economies' of these countries and a liability on everyone else. Let's not forget that these countries are hella more population dense than Korea was when we gave aid to Korea and very little infrastructure to show it due to the nature of politics in these countries (with politicians being extremely corrupt and not even bothering to hide it, taking most of this aid and putting it in their pocket), which means that continuing to give aid to these countries is essentially unsustainable in the long term and probably the short term as well. Even Macron said as much.

For China at least.

Not forever

There are 37 countries that have more than 4 children.

34 of them are African.

The three exceptions are Iraq (Huge war), Afghanistan (Huge war) and East Timor (Abos).

Africa needs to sort their population problem out pronto but if you speak to an African about it they ensure that the population growth is a good thing based on fuck all.

GROWTH is a good thing if it's sensible - not when your population is projected to fucking QUADRUPLE.

one kid will die before its 10s, another before its 20s and the other 2 won't probably reach their 50s

What? We don't even give free food (we conduct trade and only give food do to crisis or famines). That's not the fucking problem with African agriculture at all.

Korea is way more population dense then most African states I don't know how you can be wrong on something so fucking easy to know. SK is 23rd most dense, Nigeria is less then half of that.

You say that but Niger's had a population grow from 4 million to 25 million in barely over 10 years.

The UN is saying Africa will have a population of 4.5 billion in 2100.
2.5 billion in 2050.

Overpopulation isn't even a world problem, it's just an African one.

Africa is huge and really underpopulated though
and I really doubt those UN numbers, agriculture is going to die soon in many of those countries due to climate

and there's a correlation between being poor and having many children, is a constant in every country in every era

>really underpopulated
You have to bear in mind that a quarter of its land is the Sahara which is uninhabitable.

You can't develop when your population growth is higher than your economic growth.
It makes the GDP per capita lower.

Niger' an exceptional case. As development occurs birth fertility rates will drops as better access to maternal care, access to health care and standards of living increase just like it did in Europe and Asia. There are places that went from 7 to 4-5 kids on the continent.

>Sahara which is uninhabitable.

People live in the Sahara and deserts though.

>You can't develop when your population growth is higher than your economic growth.

China user.

iirc their land isn't very suited to agriculture at least with the existing crops, russia potentially can produce more than the whole africa (if russia ever fixes its agriculture) because there are a lot of good crops that grow in its climate

That is true but fertility rates have gone from falling like a rock to falling like a feather.

Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Oceania all have fertility rates ranging from 1.7-2.3.
Africa is stuck on 4.6. It might be 4.5 by now (2017 data hasn't been released yet) but it used to fall at a rate of .3 or even .4 every year.

Very very very few people live there.
China's population growth is small as a PERCENTAGE. There are 6 million extra Chinese every year that's true but that's less than 1% whilst economic growth is 7%.

The economy is growing at a rate more than 7 times faster than the people.
