Good taste user

what is the point of this thread?

What’s the point of anything?

Presumably to discuss eachother's tastes, Mr. NoFun

sorry do we need to guess personalities and how much of a tortured soul or genius we all are to make it meaningful, like your chart threads

to have a chat, feel less alone etc

Grouper is the best artist of the 21st century, good choice man. She does not have an album below 7/10, and she has so many albums

Radiohead- Karma Police
Torture Killer- I chose Death
Morrissey- Spent the day in bed
Leonard Cohen- Dress Rehersal Rag
Neil Young- Out on the weekend

>She does not have an album below 7/10
haven't listened to all of her albums but for the ones that I have listened to, I think I can agree with this. I'd probably put the man who died at a solid 7 though.
oddly I enjoy that album she did with jefre cantu-ledesma more than most of her solo stuff.

2. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Sleep
3. Grouper - Alien Observer
4. Sigur Ros - Ny Batteri
5. Meshuggah - Bleed

I'm I'm not that into full blown ambient. I'll listen to some Tim Hecker, Stars of The Lid and Eno occasionally but it usually doesn't do much for me emotionally, I just use it to relax or study. For that reason my favorite Grouper records are Dragging A Dead Deer, Alien Observer, The Man Who Died In His Boat and Ruins. I do like her super ambient stuff as well but it's a lot nicer to be able to dinstinctly hear her singing and playing imo.

I'll say her hour long ambient piece Sleep makes me cry though.
