When you realise Slowdive were a band stuck in the 80s that tried make their simple songwriting sound better by adding a shit-ton of reverb and delay (AKA shoegaze). Seriously, when will people stop calling MBV "shoegaze". You can see the disappointment on Kevin's face @ 0:44 when compared to Slowdive: youtube.com
MBV has far better use of chords (particularly the voicings of said chords) and textures than any of these posers. Not to mention most songs are danceable, not gloomy Cure rip-off type shit.
