bbng
Band name describes the type of person that listens to them.
What other bands fit that mold
>Garbage
>Butthole Surfers
>Of Mice & Men
>Beach Boys
>The Front Bottoms
What about them is bad? Just generic? Bad fans?
good but i cant believe sometimes how little adam jones's riffwriting evolved between 1996 and 2006
Are they just like non offensive 5/10 or 6/10. I want a tool analysis/ review from someone. I feel trashy listening to them. My gf likes them tho and it wud be cool to get into them.
Pretty good. Absolutely one of the most unique and best things to come out of the 90s and early 2000s in terms of heavy music.
But thats commentary on the people who listen to Tool, and not Tool itself. Why even come here if your just going to make low effort shitposts?
Thanks. Im insecure about my musical taste
I like them. Undertow is my favorite album of theirs. No filler intermissions.
They're enjoyable, just avoid obsessive loon fans. Same as any other band.
Definitely not generic, but their fans have that cretinous aura that says "I haven't listened to more than 10 artists".
writing shit riffs in non 4/4 doesn't make them shit riffs you fucking soyboy
They are a decent progressive metal band. Their prog is in the line of King Crimson, which i think is also their biggest downfall. If you isolate all the most interesting things about their music it was most likely done better somewhere else. Overall I think they are alright but not as special or complex as a lot of Tool fans believe them to be.
>ywn have a tool-fan gf
why live
Im so confused what your trying to convey here
This is what i wanted. Thanks for the breakdown
She a sexy horny beauty who i fuck constantly and its amazing
There is a prog thread going, why not ask there?
>Their prog is in the line of King Crimson
What do you mean by this?
I met Maynard in Jerome, AZ when I was 17.
I told him "thank you for the art, it saved my life".
Fucker didn't even look at me and just said, "leave me alone."
What a fucking cocksucker.
It's been hard to listen to Tool ever since.
They're overrated now imo.
garbage for plebs
Pretty much just metal King Gizz
The fuck does this even mean?
tool are shit and I've been out taking ketamine
Are you implying king gizz is shit? Cuz then i cant take your Tool opinion seriously
Their style of prog is from the vein of King Crimson, mostly combing elements of the Red and 80s era. A big emphasis on heavy guitar riffs in odd time signatures, also the drumming seems to be trying to emulate Bruford a lot. It's like how Dream Theater is also a progressive metal band but their prog influences come much more from the symphonic styles of Yes and Rush, while Tool's prog style can be traced back to King Crimson.
Undertow is not underrated, it's a not good album
At this point in their careers, king gizz and tool are intertwined. You can't talk about one without mentioning the other
I like how they went away from the fedora message and went into spiritual acid ramblings.
people who wear tool shirts in public always look depresing
What the fuck are you on?
Why?
Honestly, you shouldve known he hates being called out for being in tool. My friends family owned a local clothing store and he came into it once, they asked him to sign something or for a picture to hang on the store wall and he told them to fuck off and stormed out.
He’s a wine maker, not a famous singer, how could you have mixed this up?
Ive heard so many stories like this and am so glad that i never became one of those types of fans of any music. To me, most people are very similar and very stupid, althogh i listen to whatever music i want and still like it. I have no attatchment with other people like that, its dangerous and ALWAYS false.
No artist is really an artist.. just ordinary shitty people. It is possible to be a true artist but very very uncommon.. Infact it probably has never been done a person would have to be a phenomenal genius far beyond einstein or anyone who has ever lived.
If you want to see what most celebrities are like search for celebrity encounters on the internet.. Most of these people are complete faggots and have never developed a normal brain because their fame either started at an early age or the parents enabled them. I mean they are really dorky, nervous people that dont even know what the fuck is going on and this aggitates them and makes them agressive. Search for images of people like celine dion in public.. these people look so fucking out of it and socially awkward. The least likely ones are usually the nicest, sometimes the most generic and famous ones are the nicest.
classic maynard
reminds me of an user who made a thread here a couple of years ago. he waited around for hours after a show to see annie clark but she just walked directly to the tour bus. it was pretty hilarious how hurt he was
Lateralus and 10,000 Days are their only good albums
Everything else sucks.
>I undahstand moosic theereey urggh soyboy
WHY DONT YOU KIDS LIKE THE TOOL
Tool was the most innovative band to emerge from grunge's second generation. Undertow (1993) announced their sinister, threatening and (in a subtle way) explosive blend of Led Zeppelin, grunge, heavy-metal and progressive-rock. The lengthy and brainy suites of Aenima (1996) displayed a shimmering elegance that was almost a contradiction in terms, but that was precisely the point: Tool's art was one of subtle contrasts and subdued antinomies, one in which existential rage and titanic will competed all the time. It was also a diary of primal angst, and the lyrical level truly paralleled the instrumental level. Lateralus (2001) expanded on that two-level approach, with tracks that, musically, were multi-part concertos or mini-operas, and, lyrically, were Freudian sessions that elicited all possible interior demons.
jesus christ what a pseud scruffy is
This board needs more pseuds and less 19 year olds that liked Tool until some sperg user just told them not to (most of this thread)

RECORDING STARTS IN APRIL
IT'S FUCKING HAPPENING
>How lucky am I? Spent yesterday getting my face melted by 3/4 of TOOL at the TOOL headquarters/ rehearsal studio. My very own private TOOL show, just missing the vocals!
>"This is not just your average simple rock and roll music. This is progressive metal at its most atmospheric, and right when you get into a groovy trance, you get beat over the head with riffs so heavy it feels like a tool. Some tunes were so pummeling, it felt like I was getting a deep-tissue massage! In fact, they could call the record that. No song was shorter than seven minutes and some were 20 minutes long! Just my idea of how to spend the perfect day!
Always liked them, they were really popular in the 90's.
Finally saw them live with my mom a few yrs back, was a good show! I should listen to them more desu.
I too liked Tool until I drank the true metal kool-aid. Nowadays I don't care, Tool is fine to listen to, can't really find another band with their sound without going into extra cheesy prog metal.
And Carey can actually play drums.
