They should have never made the overworld 3D. Gen V had an excellent overworld style and with the rise of Gen VI Pokémon died.

I really didnt like the 6th gen and at the last evolution Chespin ended up the weakest and the most dumb looking, Greninja while ""overrated"" was still the best choice, at least to me.
It was good.

Zapdos was pretty cool, but Articuno was cooler. And there's an abundance of great Electric types in Gen 1, and a severe lack of ice type.

I'm actually not that big on Ice types. Most of the time I teach something ice to someone else.

Like what? Zapdos is head and shoulders above all the others, while Articuno isn't really much better than Lapras. Only exception, and only if you have access to the time machine from GSC, is Electabuzz, because it can learn Ice Punch

Zapdos has only 5 sp. attack over for example Magneton and 15 over Jolteon. Lapras has pretty high stats, but it's gay as fuck.

Ice is one of the best offensive types, and if you just teach ice moves to a water-type then you don't get STAB.

Electric sucks because everything has Earthquake. I remember playing Stadium R2 and every electric type was just a wasted slot.

I know that, just don't normally use Ice types, one would have been real handy against the Alola e4, the flying one gave me the most trouble, and I had both and electric and rock type.

There are electrics immune to that now

Zapdos has much better speed than Mangeton, a much better move pool than Jolteon, and much better defenses than either. And a gap of 5 or 15 Special isn't small in Gen 1, remember that it's really double that since Special = SpAtk and SpDef

Similarly, Articuno has a much greater speed than Lapras. And it doesn't really matter what moves they can learn since you'll teach them Thunderbolt anyway and only ever use that.

Lapras has similar defenses to Articuno, including superior physical bulk, better typing both offensively and defensively, and a vastly superior movepool. Cloyster is also worth a mention as a Ice-type because of its excellent physical bulk and access to Clamp and Explosion. Jynx is also good since it has an OP second time and access to Lovely Kiss. Articuno is just one Ice-type among many
