It's Not Even A Good Genre

...

um sweetie, thats where you're wrong

It's the only good rock subgenre besides progressive rock

>Noise Pop
For the love of God, somebody point me in the direction of noise pop which isn't just lazy shoegaze / noise rock.

I see Stereolab described as noise pop sometimes (usually their first two albums) and I think it's an apt term for some of the music (for example, Pack Yr Romantic Mind). Or maybe I'm misremembering, haven't listened to them in a while.
You probably listened to them already though.

I find it more than just slightly offensive that "Jazz" nad "Classical" are listed here next to so many terms for rock and pop music.

unironically, this

this is such a 2012 chart

Xiu Xiu
Black Tambourine
No Age

Yeah

Xiu Xiu and No Age are trash but I'll check out Black Tambourine, appreciate it

TURN IT ON, TURN IT ON AND ALL THE WAY UP

ok fella the implication here being that I know all of the really obvious ones don't play me like that

fusion, math and prog are the only good subgenres of rock

punch jazz down to shit tier

black tambourine is more jangly than noise, if you like that check out stuff like josef k, beat happening, vivian girls, marine girls, etc etc

This must be b8 right?

I just want lovely pop sounds interspersed w/ harsh segments similar to early Rev, Deerhoof, or Disco Inferno.

>synth pop
>low tier
kys

Sparklehorse has some noise pop songs

Hood
Long Fin Killie

Wasn't a fan in general of Sparklehorse unless you can mention the specific tracks off the top of your head

Hood is great but not really what I'm looking for, don't like LFK

>what is indeterminism

Rainmaker
Someday i will treat you good
Tears on fresh fruit
Ghost of his smile
Hammering the cramps
