No clue what this language is but i understood everything lol. Just visit small towns/cities, one thing that we have over neighbour countries is huge amount of castles and pretty nature. Architecture is all communist or in historical cities A-H, but there are some historical peasant houses like pic related.
For cities i would pick Bardejov,Banská Štiavnica,Kremnica and similar small ones. We only have 2 ''big'' cities, Košice which is actually nice city to visit i would reccomend. And Bratislava our capital which is just small Wien(45 minutes away from it, always historically connected) Nothing special about this city honestly, if you plan on visiting Wien you can see everything in Bratislava in a day.
>1: Slovakian people are cold and distant with strangers. They make Brits look like extroverts
I know lot of foreigner students here and most of them had similar experience. Its rare for Slovak to meet foreigners that are not Hungarians or Gypsies, which are not actual foreigners. Lot of people live their entire life without meeting somebody foreign.
>2: There is clearly plenty of money going around. The roads and buildings are mostly very well-maintained
Depends on region, Western Slovakia, and specially Bratislava region is very rich, Western Europe tier, but Central and Eastern parts are in terrible postition.
>3: Despite being prosperous, some things about it are very dated. Despite staying in one of the most expensive hotels in the country, the decor, food, and service, while not bad, felt somewhat 70s
Might be on purpose to be honest, lot of tourists come expecting ''communist'' atmosphere. Seeing you are in Tatras hotels there have no problem with money.
>4: People dress weird, and a lot of the women dye their hair red for some reason
Dont know what to say, i think except for hipsters people dress very boring and normally.
