Just saw "Silence" by Martin Scorsese. Powerful stuff. I think regardless of your religious beliefs you guys will love it purely for its cinematic brilliance

I want to see it so bad

It's amazing and takes turns you don't see coming. Not the standard "I'll die for Jesus like Jesus" movie

Did you watch the one by Masahiro Shinoda as well and compare the two?

I hope you aren't trolling I wanna see it

Another shill thread, great.

How is it a shill thread?

I was also lucky enough to see a screening. Honestly think is a masterpiece of modern cinema, and I'm not something to go around saying that often.

WTF? I love Jesus now.

goddamn, 16 bucks for a movie ticket?
my theater is 8 for day and 10 for night

Read the thread. Nothing but praise, naw, something's not right here. Unless this is bizarro Sup Forums shit's see through.

So? Non-sequitur, bro

I'm not a shill I want to see it
go watch your manchild capeshit

I have a sneaking suspicion Scorsese is about to BTFO everything from 2016

True, Sup Forums can't go more then 2 posts in a row without bitching about something. It does seem suspicious.

Even someone who enjoyed it generally must be able to see the massive flaws. It does some things well but others shockingly poorly. It's a movie almost impossible to have OP's opinion on.

No! Didn't even know about it! Thank you I'll check it out!

Dude I'm not a shill. I saw it and it was good so I'm sharing it here on tv because I love good movies. It's great and the Japanese actors give amazing performances

He didn't post a five paragraph critique of the film, bro. Calm down. All he said was he enjoyed it

>atheist thinks that religious people are '''''''deep''''''

how big was jesus?

I know I live in Southern California everything here is so goddamn expensive

It actually is really smartly written and the Japanese inquisitor gives a compelling argument why there shouldn't be Christianity in Japan. It's not your basic "Jesus will set you free" movie

"cinematic brilliance' is a pretty one sided appraisal of a massively flawed film friend

Next time throw in some conflicting opinions to make it more convincing. There you go, I just shaved some money off of your marketing budget.

you sleuth detective!
look out boys we've got a regular sherlock over here!

It had creat characters, performances and incredible shots. Scorsese did great. Stop it at almost any scene and it looks like you're looking at a painting in a museum. I criticize movies on tv all the time and when a movie is good I'll give it its due.
I'm an atheist fag by the way so it's not religious with me it's just a great flick

It's a soon to be classic

Okay, maybe I missed something, maybe it's seeing it on the big screen hitters for me. What did I miss? How is it massively flawed? Tell me how?

Of you think something was wrong with it so tell. I honestly thought it was great. Op here and I'm anonymous but I respect honest opinions I think it's his finest since goodfellas & casino

"Massively flawed" how so? Please give me examples of these massive flaws. I thought it was incredible

Arclight Pasadena is donkey dick.

Hollywoood is much better. :D

I haven't seen it was poking fun at the conspiracy nutcases itt
I want to see it badly
I'm up on a knickers dick since Goodfellas

I'll back you up, OP. I thought it was fantastic. Upper-tier Scorsese. I usually roll my eyes at films where faith is prominently featured, but this was still able to get to me. The priests and the various Japanese characters were portrayed with nuance. This is not remotely a one-sided pro-Jesus film.

I thought Garfield was good, but I read someone mention that they thought the movie would've been better with Driver in his role instead, and I can't help but think that could've been really interesting.

Anyways, it deserves major Oscar nominations, even though it's been pretty ignored so far.

>Trailer gives you absolutely no clue what the fucking plot is.

name other indications a movie will be shit
