Why are there no famous exceptional female guitarrists - at least in comparison to the number of male ones? Not supposed to be a swj/feminist bullshit question.
Same reason, why there are no famous female race car drivers?

Just to prevent the inevitable from happening:
Are you forgetting that there are female musicians and artists that actively listen to music along with creating it? Hell, people like Grimes, Kate Bush, Bjork, and Nina Simone are great examples of musicians who can develop, and have developed their own musical opinions free from the thresholds of male influence. And if you're arguing that the average woman is incapable of understanding the arts, then you've been on this board for too long and are an idiot. Do you actually think the average man outside of Sup Forums even so much as cares about, or even understands basic principles of artistry? Hell, most men aren't nearly as interested in the arts; when have you ever seen a Theater/Drama, Painting/Drawing or Music class where the males heavily outnumber the females? Or when a woman takes her boyfriend to a show that isn't commercialized garbage and the make retains any sort of interest? If you think females are incapable of perceiving the arts in any sort of significant manner, then you're a philistine. Such sexist ideals should not, should have never, and will never be thought of anymore in the realm of art. Good riddance, you disgusting cherubim.

There are very few female instrumentalists in general
Because girls simply dont have the attention span to learn how to be anything more than medicore at playing an instrument.
Bonnie Raitt is about the only one I can think of that has legitimate playing ability
It is viewed as a male thing, women are more into violins and flutes.
She’s not really exceptional
But she’s cute and that’s what matters
Danica Patrick is the only race car driver I can name off the top of my head that isn't Dale Earnhardt or Ayrton Senna
Marnie Stern’s pretty great
There are a ton of female pianists.
Kaki King
lead guitarist is like the ultimate macho role, so I don't think it's a big surprise
Mary Halvorson is starting to be up there for contemporary jazz guitarists, though
Mary Halvorson is the epitome of shit though
Because white males refuse to let them have any attention unless they are unrealistically attractive
Women generally have small hands so don't have the physical capability to play to the highest level. How many great guitarists can you name that have small hands?
For every celebrated female pianist you could name I could name 10 male ones.
Piano is definitely the instrument with the strongest female representation but women are still far outnumbered.
Yngwie Malmsteen?
Yvette Young
Gina Gleason is pretty great. There are also many women who are good guitarists but are better known for their singing or songwriting ability (Joni Mitchell, Chrissie Hynde, St. Vincent, Melissa Etheridge, etc). As for why female guitarists aren't as visible in the music world, I'd guess the music industry's absolutely shit-level treatment of women has something to do with it.
Please explain what you were thinking when you wrote this retarded post.
Orianthi seems pretty competent for me.
She was good enough for Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper and here in the clip is Santana heaping praise on her skills.

Guys have to try a lot harder and work harder to achieve fuckability, women lack that drive in aggregate. Even those who do have that drive, their economic and biological filter event happens earlier in life due to looming motherhood or dwindling prospects of motherhood. It helps to be a lesbian.
That seems like a rather gimicky instrument, watching her play it looks no more difficult to play than any other guitar, it’s just that the upper strings are tuned so as to be used as bass without fretting them.
You lost me at Grimes
Pretty good. Has she always had a tail?

If you want the legitimate reason it's that throughout history the music industry has been rather sexist
If you want the Sup Forums reason it's that "women aren't capable of having any talent whatsoever"
I mean your points about biology seem apocryphal at best but a lot of boys are definitely sold the ideal from a pretty young age that being a rock star will make them rich and desirable, and girls really aren't, so it shouldn't be surprising that the people who grow up to chase that ideal end up being mostly men.
the music is beautiful though
Women in the industry are treated like shit, it's a huge barrier. That's really the crux of it.
Jennifer Turner, played on the first Natalie Merchant album, brilliant session player.
