This band has a very underrated bassist (0:53) and it pulls a lot of the album together, but the rest of their band, especially Kyo/singer, are virtuosos imo too.

bass literally connects everything in rock music and keeps the beat grounded you pleb

Dark Castle is a psychedelic doom/sludge band that doesn't have a bassist and they're better than most doom metal bands you inbred
Pretty sure beat happening has no bass
Entire genre of black metal has bass mixed down so much it's pointless, with the exception of a few bands that utilize bass well

...

...

...

Nice three examples

so what happens if the band doesn't have a bassist

Other sleep songs for sure. But not this one

>everything in rock music

>all albums are rock
>all rock has bass

holy fuck this is good

>chooses their album with the most insignificant bass
Try again, user.

any Primus album

You claimed everything in rock is held together by bass, I gave you two bands and an entire fucking subgenre of a form of rock music that disprove you
Want more? Early fucking Black keys and white stripes didn't have a bass player and they're both well known rock acts
Even if I gave you one example it refutes your retarded point and shows how much of a dweeb you are

...

Wow. 20+ replies and not a single mention of this album? The one with the most critically acclaimed bassist in music ever? You all are pathetic.

The GOAT post punk album

yes

Anything by The Doors.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

can you believe the melon on this one

I only listen to art punk, sweetie. If the band doesnt wear cool fashionable art outfits then they aren't real art. This was my favorite album when I was going to Pratt.

This, if you disagree you're a pleb retard.

White stripes NEVER had a bass player, dum dum. Just guitar through a pitch shifter, even on albums. Which is kind of retarded, but so is Jack Whitee

The fuck are you talking about? I thought Steve McDonald was their bassist.

I feel like the drums are the most important in this one

...

Drums are generally more important.

Vern's basslines are always what makes the song

Drum and bass

GOAT bass coming through

second rate Cause For Effect

Anything by Minutemen, anything by NoMeansNo, + pic related

>their experiences in the world of music is so limited they can't think of music in any context other than a rockist context
I feel sad and tickled at the same time

bass is pretty important here but I think the percussion is even more important

Because it's boring and middleschool stoner tier.

the bassline on "Message Received" makes me afraid for my life

And there's that one guitar chord in the verse that sounds like bees buzzing, I had to pause when I first heard it cause I thought there was a bee in the room

My favorite bassline on the album has yo be Corpse Pose or Unauthorized Autobiography though

This unironically.
