>tfw listened to almost nothing but Mahler for 2 weeks
Dude was a master of aesthetics. I know that analyzing Mozart, Beethoven, or the 2nd Viennese school would be more meaningful but I can't get over his melodies and motifs.

>the beginning of the second movement of his 8th symphony

perfect orchestration

>master of aesthetics

If anything, its just the opposite. He's like the Jacob Collier of classical music. Talent and musicality out the ass with shit sensibilities.

Just embrace it, man. Let the awkward jewishness of it flow through you.

How do you mean? The slow introduction of the opening theme is incredible in his first. Can't get it out of my head. The third movement is even better.

>that slow, delicate crawl towards the finale
The first movement is a meme but god damn the 2nd movement is just filled to the brim with delicious, sensitive writing. I don't even like Mahler that much but that entire thing is a masterpiece. Mmm.
