here's the thing: Fire Orchestra is generally overrated, Fire! is generally underrated - The Hands is currently the top rated jazz album on RYM, so calling it underrated is a stretch, but it is better than most of Sup Forums gives it credit
I feel like Stanko is a little overrated in countries where his music is better known (Poland, Nordics), but definitely underrated in general

European jazz is definitely underappreciated in the US

just last week there was a pretty neat clip of Soweto Kinch interviewing Shabaka Hutchings that I think gives a pretty good example of showing how musicians outside of the US jazz tradition are approaching the music
