How could a "jazz head" hate herbie

Jazz heads don't hate fusion or this album. They just get mildly annoyed when people who haven't listened to very many jazz albums insist that it's the greatest jazz album of all time.

This, Sextant is also way better.

STEP ASIDE

herbie is good

"jazz heads" don't hate fusion, pretentious rock critics hate fusion

Fusion is one of the best genres ever.

No YOU step aside.

I love that album, but it's certainly not his single best album

Then what is?

no way

this or Empyrean Isles

herbie handcock

Objectively the second best modal jazz album of all time.

...

I unironically love this and Sound-System, I think they're underrated even though he has so many masterworks with Blue Note, the Mwandishi group, Mr. Hands, and the Headhunters

What can I expect from this?

That entire period of Hancock jazz/fusion is among my favorite music of all time. The live concert videos on youtube are amazing.

>What can I expect from this?
Shitty electronic songs with only the singles being worth listening to.

Superior Jazz Funk Herbie hovering through a South American land near you!!

What is that album cover trying to tell me?

What are some other jazz albums like Maiden Voyage? I already know Wayne Shorter and Blue Note stuff like that and the Miles Davis Quintet but I'm looking for more.

Nothing in the slightest. It's abstract art. Like half of Hancock's covers.

Both take some time to click, I'd say, but when they do...
>Future Shock as a whole gives hints at where hip-hop was to go in the late 80s/early 90s
>Sound-System blends worldbeat with the styles found on Future Shock

Sup Forums doesn't like either of them, but to each their own

Some do, but those people are not worth taking seriously. Headhunters got many people interested in jazz, including myself.
