can't legally cook food due to a secret Commerce Clause. by growing cooking your own food for consumption, or even to feed to your animals, you're NOT buying from multinational restaurants (KFC, Wendys, McBurger) and are therefore harming international commerce and businesses.
from a purely capitalist perspective, it seems valid to ban home cooking because it damages the profit earning of businesses and multinational corporations.
However if they were going to ban home grown food it would be under water restrictions or potential soil contamination (Health&Environment) of inner city regions
