Why did everyone tell me this was bad?
Underrated
Because it is.
Because they've never had a relationship
just the ugliest album art ever
Because they're plebs who were expecting a hip-hop album.
Protip: It's his third best album
it's fucking H E A V Y
Because Sup Forums literally sucks.
Fourth, it's behind the latest three
I agree it's a great album though
CUZ YOU AINT GOT THE ANSWERS SWAY
How?
Check'd, and I almost agree on order.
Personally I'd say:
TLOP - 10/10
Yeezus - 10/10
808's - 9.25/10
MBDTF - 9/10
TCD - 9/10
LR - 8.75/10
Graduation - 7.25/10
Never seen this opinion before.
:^)
What the fuck is this opinion?
Kanye's my second favorite artist bruh, and after many many listens of each album, this has come to be my final ordering of his solo studio albums.
Even WTT is still about a 6.25/10, although the first couple tracks are what keeps it from being lower. Jay-z was not good for Ye musically or spiritually.
who's your favorite?
Kishi Bashi
>LET ME KNOW, DO I STILL GOT TIME TO GROW
Albums a fucking 10 desu, rap purists didn't know how to take it and it was too real to have mainstream success. people basically didn't understand it at the time. This album was the product of his spiral into depression after his mother died and his fiance left him and you can definitely feel it in the music. Ive personally loved the album since it came out
>TLOP -10/10
The more you listen to it the more it grows on you.
First time I heard it I only really loved half the tracklisting and the rest was just okay, but each time I listened to it subsequently, one or two more songs I liked a lot more as their message resonated with me better, or I understood what kanye was trying to say.
Even the last tracks to grow on me, Highlights, Lowlights, & Freestyle 4, I've come to love. The gospel influence didn't really connect with me until I thought about it in relation to my own spirituality and recognized how religious kanye really was.
And the hooks on this album are fucking sticky. When you get to the point where you can "sing" along to every line, (not to mention being a fan of Kanye's lyricism, where he is extremely underrated IMO) it all adds up to a great project.
It's "focus" is being unfocused, & that was probably the ultimate redpill I had to swallow to understand it. This album is the real Kanye.
Probably cause he had to dig it out of the trash
Gave me a kek, ngl.
What would your ranking be?
I'm curious as to why you disagree with me.
LR is nowhere near his second worst
If you hate this album you've never truly been in love before.
MBDTF>Yeezus>LR>808's>TLOP>CD>Graduation
It is though.
However, despite the title "second worst" it's still an absolutely classic album and is undeniably great.
However I don't think it's as strong as his other projects, it's only just barely behind TCD & MBDTF, and if it came down to personal preference I wouldn't have an issue with someone preferring any of those 3 over the others.
I disagree with this ranking, but I can at least respect it since you have graduation at the bottom, and yeezus near the top. I'd still say MBDTF is his most overrated, but nonetheless an amazing album.
I would still say give TLOP a chance to grow on you.
Better than his older shit
>all these replies about how good it is
>0 replies about how the entire second half of the album is full of unlistenable garbage
It has nothing to do with people not knowing love or appreciating how sincere kanye is on the first half. Its about how in the second half it takes the hardest nosedive any album has ever made. Classic contrarian Sup Forums move
Coldest Winter is the best song on the album, & RoboCop is top 3 for the album.
I grant see you in my nightmares is the worst track, but Bad News & Street Lights are both great.
>Coldest Winter is the best song on the album
You mean Amazing.
Nah, that's second best though.
Coldest Winter can't be beat with the thundering drums & refrain of the chorus.
Gives me feels like nothing else.
>or I understood what kanye was trying to say.
doesn't matter
>and recognized how religious kanye really was.
doesn't matter
>And the hooks on this album are fucking sticky.
most of em sound boring now
>not to mention being a fan of Kanye's lyricism
his lyrics are literal memes on this album
>This album is the real Kanye.
he sounds like drake and a bunch of others on his own damn songs
you're a fucking idiot
...
>This album was the product of his spiral into depression after his mother died and his fiance left him and you can definitely feel it in the music.
useless context and it got nothing to do with the quality of the music
>people basically didn't understand it at the time.
>Ive personally loved the album since it came out
congrats faggot hope you jerk off to this reply
>auto toned boo hooin over thots
lol
second half is better than the first
>808's
>doesn't matter
Literally meaningless commentary, & contains 0 criticism.
>most of em sound boring now
Maybe to you, they certainly don't to me.
>his lyrics are literal memes on this album
So? IAOTS is the memiest of them all, and it's still amazing despite them. The memes have nothing to do with the quality of the music.
>he sounds like drake and a bunch of others on his own damn songs
I'd hardly call that a detracting factor, this album shows off his range. There was a bunch of moments that took me the longest time to figure out were actually Kanye because they're so modified, & it lends an extra level to the depth of story telling & meaning of the lyrics by utilizing this.
>graduation best
LMAO, garbage taste
>Literally meaningless commentary, & contains 0 criticism.
it's useless context
>The memes have nothing to do with the quality of the music.
it does when you're listening to it and he's singing about some goddamn vh1/reality tv drama
>There was a bunch of moments that took me the longest time to figure out were actually Kanye because they're so modified, & it lends an extra level to the depth of story telling & meaning of the lyrics by utilizing this.
lol stop thinking he's on some deep shit, IT'S NOT
this album is incredibly middlebrow and you know it
>it's useless context
Hardly, it deepens the meaning of the lyrics & music. The only reason it didn't immediately grab me is because I thought it was meaningless bs that he was making up. But once you realize it's real shit it becomes more emotionally resonate.
>it does when you're listening to it and he's singing about some goddamn vh1/reality tv drama
Just because Ye's life could easily be made into something like that, doesn't mean it doesn't affect him deeply. Ya'll ever heard the song "Feel like that"?
If that isn't proof that Kanye is an emotional mofo, I don't know what is. I'm an emotional spirit my self so I feel what Ye is talking about.
>lol stop thinking he's on some deep shit, IT'S NOT
Nobody says it has to be fucking "deep," I don't give a fuck about that. I care about what's real & emotionally resonate.
And nah it's not middlebrow nigga, it's grown to be in my top 4 albums period. And favorite Kanye album, & considering he's my second favorite artist, that isn't a light fucking statement.
If you don't like it that's fine, I'm not trying to convince you to love it if you don't. But ya'll got your head up your ass if you think other people can't like it.
>But ya'll got your head up your ass if you think other people can't like it.
you can like it user it's just not his best. more like his 5th best album.
Agree to disagree than. Yeezus is the only album that comes close in my opinion, which is admittedly VERY close.
But the rest of his albums while great, just don't quite make it to the same level in my opinion. It's easily become at least my 2nd most listened Kanye album besides Yeezus, if not my most listened. Whether we talking single tracks or as a whole album.
& considering I've been listening to Ye since TCD, that's a lot of fucking listens for how recent it is.
That explains why I hated it at first when it came out. After a really bad breakup not too long ago, I finally get it. To top it off, she was a big fan of this album.
I think it's cute
fpbp
yeezus > 808s > mbdtf > graduation > tlop
don't care about the other two. muh soul and shit.
Because many rap fans aren’t music fans
808s is incredible OP
>AAANYYYYWAY THEY DONT KNOW YOU LIIIKKEE IIII DO
808s=Yeezus>MBDTF>>>LR>>>>>>>>>CD>TLOP>Watch the Throne>Graduation
