Bass is harder than guitar
Bass is harder than guitar
dumb fishposter
to be competent no
to get really good yeah
to master no
I'll bet your bass playing is crappie.
Idk man, running those fish scales can be kinda tough
you can learn six chords on guitar & make a career from strumming them.
bass you need to learn scales, keys, modes, arpeggios, have spot on timing.
Nah dawg, my bass playing sounds like an angel
Jaco Pastorius demonstrated more virtuosity and skill than any guitarist ever.
this is, have u ever SEEN a guitar fish?
You speak the truth.
you can make a career in bass out of playing eighth notes of the root of the chord the guitarist is playing
Bass players are the new shredders with their overcompensating tryhard crap
The guitarfish's scales are easy af to run, plus you can learn just a few chords and be good forever
both meme instruments for children
Indeed, but it gets insanely boring to just do that.
Give some examples.zip, I'm skeptical of your garbage claim
to master guitar you have to be good at all the different guitar playing techniques
to master bass you have to have good rhythm and get good at slapping, that's it
Tell that to 99% of punk bands.
>You have to get good at slapping
>That's it
Have you ever even seen a bass guitar?
>slapping
slapping the guitar player for being sloppy.. yes.
I don't think they'd listen much. try it yourself its so dull.
My own bass style is more melodic & much more fun to play
tell me another high level technique in bass that doesn't also go into mastering the guitar
It's an observation not a claim
I've never observed it, so I can't say I agree with you
Literally anything jazz-related whatsoever, baka
>anything jazz related
is only odd timing that everybody else in Jazz, including the guitarist, has to follow
I hope your bass has a long neck
wrong. apart from the bones basses arent hard at all and even the bones aren't that hard while a guitar is solid wood
You know nothing about jazz if that's what you think I'm talking about
The longest
Senpai does this guitar look like it's made out of wood? Its bones are probably softer than a bass
when you get down to it Jazz is just odd time signatures, scales, and chords, there's hardly anything else to it, I don't care what instrument it is
>but m-muh improvisation
any good musician should be able to improvise, not just Jazz players
jazz is just ii V I with other little bits in between, the daughter of a famous jazz musician once told me this fact.
>implying I'm talking about improvisation
It's like you're just listing off a bunch of jazz buzzwords, let's talk when you know some stuff about music
Jazz players need to stop being so uppity
>oh look I can play in 5/7 while playing a Esus9aug13 dimished chord get fucked everyone
Dude, you're putting words into the mouths of me and every other jazz artist out there
You're dancing all around the mark and not hitting it
Again, talk to me when you know something about music, babe
>talk to me when you know something about music
oh look the Jazz player is being defensive about his technical wankery
good job playing that complicated shit while the pleb playing in 4/4 makes more money than you'll see in a lifetime
>resorting to ad hominem attacks rather than trying to have fruitful discussion
God bless your soul
>when you get down to it Jazz is just odd time signatures, scales, and chords, there's hardly anything else to it
t. has only listened to like ten jazz albums in his life and they were all super popular ones from the 50s/60s
the amount of experimentation and innovation and sheer beauty in jazz blows away any other form of popular music
>muh experimentation
>muh innovation
oh look more fucking technical wankery enjoyed by pretentious fucks who think they're in an exclusive club cause they like/play Jazz
Prog has done more experimental and innovative shit than Jazz will ever do
>technical wankery
why do you keep saying that. there is so much more to jazz than that.
>Prog has done more experimental and innovative shit than Jazz will ever do
HAHAHHAAHAHAAHAHAH you gotta be fucking with me. prog is deeply indebted to jazz, in fact prog is basically watered down jazz for manbabies who play DnD and watch kid's cartoons.
3 finger thump on the right hand
While prog is indebted to jazz, I would argue that the two are so separate at this point that considering prog to be watered-down jazz is a huge mistake and takes away from the specialness of prog.
