What was the first time you really opened up to different music. Pic related. I was an insufferable emo / hardcore kid as a teen who "only listened to bands on independent labels" and then this game came out and i fell in love with the Spanish station. As lame as it sounds this game opened my eyes and so did jet grind radio for dreamcast but I didn't have the intertnet them to download shit. How about you

Please talk to me. Im old and lonely.
I used to listen exclusively to classical and soundtracks because I was above the common teenager and the only alternative I was allowed to listen to was gospel and country.
And then I heard Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams....and it opened the floodgates of music. Now I am above the common mid-20s person because I listen to every genre, no matter how niche or obscure or microtonally different from another - except gospel and country because no.
OP here. If you don't listen to country please don't post in my thread. Thanks.
I posted again OP now what
i stopped writing off music just because it was popular on the radio back in middle school and it snowballed to where ill give anything a listen.
similar for me
i remember playing vice city stories when i was 13 and i fell in love with the all the 80s tracks.
that was such a great game. Really made me love my psp back then. Goddamn psp was good when i look backk on it. Had lots of games holy.
man the psp was the SHIT
it was my life at the time.
then i became a broke university student and sold it + all my games for an ounce...
what other games did you have?
Lots of jrpg. P3p, final fantasy, tactics ogre, hot shots, gta, god of war, locoroco. Fuck i had everything. First system i ever hacked and pirated.
niiccee i played the shit out of hot shots and locoroco too.
never touched an ff game before though
true too - had a bunch of torrrented games on my HUGE 1GB memory card
Honestly those 2 hot shots games on psp were better than the ones that came out after. The 2nd one had so many courses and clothes and shit. I still play. Its my go to for flights.
I like the spanish station too user
i think i had hot shots cracked on my card, and then bought everybody's golf on umd - that game was also decent
honestly though i played the shit out of the thrillville games too
top stuff
When i started listening to gorillaz. Before that i only really listened to anime music, but gorillaz opened my eyes to genres and artists i wouldnt have paid any mind to if it wasnt for those lovable group of cartoon characters.
you a real nigga OP
GTA San Andreas for me as well. When I was 12 I mainly listened to rap, like biggie smalls and wu-tang clan. Then I was driving in the desert and FREEBIRD came up on the radio.
K-Jah on GTAIII blew my fucking 10 year old mind at the time.
I knew Bob Marley but real dub music wasn't anything I knew about, obviously. Scientist Rids The World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires was probably the first album I remember making me realize there was music outside of dadrock and NSync.
Then I started learning guitar and fucked that all up because METALLICA, GnR, Skynyrd all had cool guitar heroes that I wanted to emulate.
GTA SA really opened my eyes to rap and stuff
GTA IV really opened my eyes up to electro and house music
Not this game specifically, but GTA San Andreas helped me get into rap music more.
It's the Tony Hawk games and Need For Speed.
fuck me why was american wasteland so good
Fuck. True. THPS helped me realize that AFI wasn't always Hot Topic core.
No loading screens when changing levels in Story Mode, perhaps?
i used to listen to mostly downtempo and instrumental hiphop as a teenager, but gta san andreas and fallout new vegas made me appreciate all kinds of music. now i listen to all kinds of genres, especially soul and folk
Don't forget Burnout 3!
Right? I use to play that so much I use to try to find glitches
youtube.com
This video.
Honestly, Spotify. The related artists section really introduced me into a ton of shit I still listen to today. And the reason why I no longer just stick to one genre of music.
I'd have to blame this game for my taste
Whoops
