here's a better version

I hate to say it, but a lot of the early industrial stuff that must have sounded so radical in the late 70s, just sounds goofy now.

I really like Neubauten's early stuff, like Kollaps and Kalte Sterne, but I was listening to it recently and it honestly sounds so lightweight compared to music that just sounds standard now, like extreme metal and modern hardcore punk.

Is that John fucking Balance up front?

Doesn't he go by "them/they/us" now?

Because of Lady Jaye?

Then what the fuck is he? Sure looks like a tranny.

Genesis P-Orridge/Jordan B. Peterson YouTube discussion when?

Yes, the entire industrial scene is going to sleep, but me.

That was a previous fundraiser, the bills keep coming because Genesis decided staying a US citizen in this day and age was a good idea.

>a lot of the early industrial stuff that must have sounded so radical in the late 70s, just sounds goofy now.
You aren't wrong.

Some of Throbbing Gristle's stuff just sounds ridiculous. Some of it still sounds groundbreaking.

Anyways I'm pretty selective about the gofundmes I donate to, but I'll donate to this one

>
you make made shitty synthpop and buttrock. no industrial here

Probably never going by the log of events on that GoFundMe

PLAY WITH THAT PUSSY LIKE PEEK-A-BOO

When Genesis' wife died, Genesis got breast implants and started wearing make up, so that he could act as both of them, to carry on his wife's spirit. Even before the transition, Genesis was really into transhumanism, or how technology can be used to push people beyond the limitations of humanity. Genesis is also really into Thelema, an Aleistar Crowley-inspired branch of occultism/magic.

If all this sounds really fucking stupid, delusional, nonsensical, and self-indulgent, that's because it is.

he fused into one with his dead wife.

The US government isn't going to break into his house and steal all his shit based on a rumor that he has child porn.
Likewise, the US government isn't going to force people to pay for other people's medical bills.
Land of the fucking free. Best country on earth, stay mad.

>I really like Neubauten's early stuff, like Kollaps and Kalte Sterne
the live versions are still as radical as ever

youtube.com/watch?v=Hkrv0Q11tWM

Gen was before all of this SJW stuff. A true trailblazer. I'd call them Princess of Galaxy Rigel-7 if it'd make them happy. Cards like this one actually make life interesting. Not like those dull SJW.

>Likewise, the US government isn't going to force people to pay for other people's medical bills.
it will force them to pay an enormous amount of money to kill sand people, tho.

Genesis and Lady Jaye had undergone a shit ton of operations before she died because they were "pandrogenous" or something like that.

Basically they were trying to fuse into one being, with each of them forming one half.

Anyways watch this. It's one of the only good Nardwuar interviews I've seen. Even better because Gen keeps calling him Aardvark

The Industrial Scene rejects me
The Industrial Scene threw me away
The Industrial Scene never gave me a chance
The Industrial Scene gonna have to pay

lol I'd love to see it, though. My read is that Peterson is a smart guy with okay ideas, who's cashing in as a self-help guy. Genesis is brilliant, with a lot of ridiculous, nonsensical ideas. So I just imagine Peterson trying to have a logical conversation with someone who's both smarter than him, and completely out of his mind. It would be fucking hilarious.

A truly free world is one without sand people.

reddit

nice video, thanks for posting!

>Genesis is brilliant
>Literally complains about the patriarchy
I like gen, but he's no genius.

True. It would have made a hell of a TED talk.

>you have to be absolutely faultless in character and in perfect ideological harmony with my own sensibilities in order to be brilliant
I think you'll find that most brilliant people in history has aspects to their life and thought that you'd consider disagreeable in some way. They don't need to be some kind of detached Bodhisattva to be brilliant.

People that have that unfettered creative way of thinking tend to not do well in debates. Stricter, hyper-logical autism usually prevails in that scenario.

Russell Brand certainly isn't brilliant by any stretch of the imagination, but I think he does have the "unfettered creative way of thinking," as you put it, and it actually led to a pretty interesting conversation between him and Peterson. Which is saying something, considering how different their worldviews are.

not him, but I just think it would funny to watch as Peterson has to sit through Gen ranting about some outrageous, nonsensical metaphysical bullshit and somehow argue against that.

I thought it started even before the wife's death, and the wife got surgeries to make herself look more like him as well.

I've never heard that, but I'll look into it. I'm certainly not in any position to argue with that.

You're not wrong, but then most impressionable people prefer the demagoguery that comes with those set debates styles too. They silently cheer on their chosen side to "win". It becomes less about the moment and the exchange of ideas and more about the spectacle of it all.

b nice to tront

Yeah he's right. There's photos of them post-surgeries posing in their bathroom mirror and that. They were both consciously trying to become the other. He didn't do it post-death in a state of grief. They had been planning it (and carrying it out) for a while.

Trent has never claimed to be industrial, it was the media who wanted a genre to file him under. He's just influenced by it.

reminder genesis was a genius

Post your favorite Genesis tune, lads.

>>samples factory noises and uses mechanical beats
By this logic, David Lynch makes industrial music.

He does though.

sampling noises and shit in pop songs =/= industrial. fuck off

payback for making entire albums celebrating the murder of Sharon Tate, a long painful agonizing death, karma is a fucking bitch

sure TG is extremely important, but they were fucking sick and evil

but the tranny deserves it because it's responsible for abominations such as nine inch fail

>itt: Mad industrialfags wondering why they never got their spot in the sun as they attempt to push out the only person connected to their genre who brought them any sort of success. Meanwhile Reznor lived the life while you're circlejerking on a Filipina dating forum

lmaoing at your life, piggies.

I do consider NIN industrial rock, but I can understand why Reznor didn't consider himself industrial. From his perspective, the music he was making must have seemed way too light and poppy to qualify, even if he was drawing inspiration from industrial groups.

Pretty Hate Machine does sound like Depeche Mode-style synthpop, just with some industrial touches. Reznor clearly knew about Throbbing Gristle and Einstürzende Neubauten, and he drew inspiration from Coil and Foetus. More significantly, he was totally inspired by Ministry and Skinny Puppy, and he was inspired by their scene. But that first record sounds a lot more like Depeche Mode, and it's probably telling that he was initially touring with alternative acts like The Jesus and Mary Chain.

IMO, Broken and The Downward spiral is where he's pretty undeniably doing industrial rock. That stuff doesn't sound out of place alongside Godflesh.

By The Fragile, though, he's already drifting away from industrial. There are some touches again, but it's also alternative, ambient, etc. Obviously, With Teeth is even further away from industrial.

So, I guess, the only NIN stuff that truly sounds industrial is Broken and The Downward Spiral. And obviously those remix albums.

>extreme metal and modern hardcore punk
You have a lot more listening to do if you honestly think hard-core punk and metal are extreme genres.

While we're on the topic of ridiculous, nonsensical ideas, Jordan Peterson is a Christian and a devout one at that. Those Patreon donations don't come on their own.

Are you 5? Or are you a nephew of the same person who called Throbbing Gristle the wreckers of civilization?
