I can't get into classical, it's too sterile for me. Sure, it may express many sentiments of the composer's, but the rehearesed orchestra doesn't have enough individual creative energy for me. The playfulness (creativity, improvisation, interplay) of jazz is what I like about it. I don't see any reason to compare them beyond one having some of its roots in the other, but I don't bring up Blind Lemon Jefferson when I'm talking about The Who for that either.
