Baden Powell - Solitude on guitar

The early discog of Milton Nascimento is quite amazing assuming you haven't heard his complete material. Don't skip the live material btw, the fresh arrangements and collaborations are godly.

Can't really say the same about Lô Borges though his first and second albums are alright.

I think you should like most of the famous material of the rest of the Tropicália crew. Some great albums from that era include:

Caetano Veloso - Araca Azul
Gal Costa - s/t (she has two self-titled LPs but I blindly recommend almost everything she put out around that era)
Gilberto Gil - s/t from 1968

The Tropicalia album works like an index of sorts for that specific era of music though there were other great Brazilian artists in the 60s and 70s unrelated to that specific collective.

Came here to post these ones

This.

ikr
bit of a shame that he largely abandoned that sound after Transa, but maybe he got what he wanted out of it

Joia is imho a very overlooked Veloso album. MPB deconstructed.....if it wasn't for that atrocious Beatles cover, it would be a 8/10 for me

"MPB" is probably the only worthwhile genre that came out of South America. And I say this as a non Brazilian sudaca. Sure, every country has good music, but I cannot think of anything that was as good as Brazil's music scene during the late 50's-70s

amon tobin for some idm

arthur verocai s/t changed my existence

>no one talking about 14bis
Dude, if Clube da Esquina was brazilian Beatles, these guys are brazilian Pink Floyd.

Can anyone rec me boogarins-like stuff? Also, why hasnt anyone metioned Jorge Ben or Tim Maia?

So far I know few recent brazilian bands like them. Check out Lupe de Lupe, Ventre, Carne Doce and, if you have not already, O Terno
also check out this collab cover between Boogarins and O Terno of Clube da Esquina

Tim's arrangements and melodies are fucking glorious. Also he reminds me of Caetano in his singing

Bump. Any OP involving Brazilians, and I expect the worst, but there's a lot of good shit in this thread. Or maybe I'm so used to Sup Forums's outlook.
