This isn't quite the same thing but its the top 10 temp tracks that composers find hardest to remove from film soundtracks.
I'd always wondered why there were so many thinly veiled rip-offs on soundtracks ("bastard children with poor genes"), its because directors get fixated and then can't afford the licensing.
