What's his best album?

What's his best album?

This one

...

>he doesn’t listen to post 90s Dylan

Seriously, I now listen to his modern music more than the better known 60s and 70s stuff. Pic related is my favourite album of all time.

this one has Pledging My Time, so this one.

everyone agrees its john wesley harding

dis nigga gets it

Literally nobody agrees that, just like nobody agrees with me it’s Modern Times.

Cool photo though, post more. I like seeing happy Bob.

is this alt album art

ye

Agreed. I have a new favorite every couple of months from this album. Right now its 4th Time Around

This one is crazy underated.

Where can i get this album? I get most of my music from pastebin rips and flea market record sellers and i can't find this fuckin album anywhere. Dylan is one of my favorite artists and I still haven't listened to this album

bad troll

This is a confusing post.

not trolling cunt
I got Greatest Hits 1 and 2 Self Portrait Freewheelin and Highway 61 revisited still havent listened to blonde on blonde
where can I find it

Are you like fucking 80 years old.

>Self Portrait
Fuck me, you heard that way too early on but at least you didn’t hold it against him, all credit to you.

If you can get through Self Portrait you can listen to any Dylan album. Just get Spotify and listen to the lot, there are 38 studio albums, 13 bootlegs and several live albums. You will save yourself a fortune.

pretend I'm a fuckin 65 year old dumbass on a tight budget who has just gotten back into listening/collecting music over the last few months. any tips?

shit why didn't i think of spotify thanks bro
still if i can find any dylan records im grabbing that shit love this fuckin guy

I am almost astounded. You are on this board.....but didnt think to try streaming services....

I like this pic, OP.

/thread

I download all of my shit onto my phone so I don't have to use data/hear commercials and Im poor but I fuckin love this board man. Found some good shit thanks to this place. Got back into the beatles and when i go looking for records I know what most shit is because ofthis place. Days of Future Passed and Court of the Crimson King were just sitting in a box at the flea market untouched because no one knew what it was that or they didn't care. Got that shit for like 3 bucks.

Excellent man, have fun. I wouldn’t try to listen in chronological order or you might put yourself off when he hits the weak or extremely weird points. Here’s a few I would suggest going for first, some of his consistently brilliant albums:

>Bringing it all Back Home
>Blonde on Blonde
>John Wesley Harding
>Blood on the Tracks
>Time out of Mind
>Modern Times
>Bootleg 5: Rolling Thunder

Plenty of other excellent albums too but all of the above are what I would consider perfect.

Oh, and keep an eye out for this if you want to learn more about the man himself, it’s one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. His autobiography Chronicles is excellent too.

nah man it’s all about Don’t Look Back

virgins

Fight me.

I don't fight the mentally impaired.

I got pic related and I was surprised how much better his new stuff is as poetry. Thunder on the Mountain is literally one of his best fucking songs

>The pistols are poppin' and the power is down
>I'd like to try something' but I'm so far from town
>The sun keeps shining'
>And the North Wind keeps picking up speed
>Gonna forget about myself for a while, gonna go out and see what others need

>I've been sitting down studying the art of love
>I think it will fit me like a glove
>I want some real good woman to do just what I say
>Everybody got to wonder
>What's the matter with this cruel world today

His new songs are a feast for the mind. He hasn’t lost his penchant for surreal wordplay and his wit is sharper than ever but I think there is more sincerity and deep meaning in the new songs than throughout much of his career. You can tell these aren’t songs he madly scribbled down in fifteen minutes, a lot of thought and care has gone into them.

>We eat and we drink, we feel and we think
>Far down the street we stray
>I laugh and I cry and I'm haunted by
>Things I never meant nor wished to say
>The midnight rain follows the train
>We all wear the same thorny crown
>Soul to soul, our shadows roll
>And I'll be with you when the deal goes down

“Soul to soul our shadows roll” is just absolutely fucking beautiful.

eh

>I got my back to the sun 'cause the light is too intense
>I can see what everybody in the world is up against
>Can't turn back, you can't come back, sometimes we push too far
>One day you'll open up your eyes and you'll see where we are
>Sugar baby, get on down the road, you ain't got no brains, nohow,
>You went years without me, might as well keep going now

>I download all of my shit onto my phone
So, what's the problem? Have you never heard of torrenting?

Yup, JWH 4ever

Good Dylan songs to jam with? I have been enjoying pentatonic scale over Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat, Lonesome Day Blues, Beyond Here Lies Nothing and My Wife’s Hometown. Great fun.

either this or Street Legal.

I just can't help but prefer his 70's material.

>Street Legal

That’s an unusual choice user. It’s my mum’s favourite Dylan album too, I think mainly because it was her first Bob Dylan record.

Yeah I guess I wouldn't call it his best album but its my personal favourite.

It’s definitely a good album. Changing of the Guards is a brilliant song.

My personal favorite is The Times Are A-Changin', but song for song it's Highway 61

This. Pennebaker is the king, Scorsese is shit. Cinema verite Dylan is the best Dylan

>daily dylan

We're not worth it

>mfw

this althought i been listenin new morning lately and its been lovely days with t

Good choice.

If you like the silly lighthearted songs this might be worth checking out.
