Why so do many NFL teams fucking suck?

Seriously, it doesn't make any sense. These players in the NFL are supposed to be the best of the best, the best from college, and yet you can easily say half of the teams are garbage. Why? Why is the level of play so fucking low?

Shit team mannagers/owners

Dude, you're a fag. Shut the fuck up.

>Defense is neutered
>Preferential treatment for """"""""""Elite"""""""""""" QBs
>No penalties for being bad

Combination of shit management/owners, hard salary cap, and shortened careers. A lot of teams suck at drafting and even when they do draft well the coaches scheme might not utilize the players effectively. Hard salary cap makes it impossible to retain players. The game is obviously violent and players are bigger, stronger, and faster than ever before. So the hits they are taking are leading to shorter careers so teams are getting younger and younger. Younger players are less skilled than the older ones, but the leagues favors athleticism over skill.

I feel like injuries are more frequent, ironically, because the NFL is trying to reduce them. When they try to make the players play more "controlled" and not full force, their bodies are not as prepared to absorb the hard blows. Why does it seem like there are more injuries, the more the league tries to reduce hard hits?

injuries aren't psychological they are because your bones break/muscles injured from hit.

I'm not saying they are psychological, but the body is better at absorbing blows in some situations than others. If the players were going at full force, their bodies would absorb the hit better, and take less damage, than if they were hesitant.

NFL will soon outlaw "big hits" to show they do something against CTE
But it's the numerous small clashes that cause it
Or they change the rules for tackling entirely

talking out of your ass. no evidence whatsoever of what you're talking about.

""""""Prototype QBs""""""""""

They've been shoving that shit down our throats since Kordell Stewart

Team personnel in the NFL tend to stay longer in their respective teams than other sports. Also, it's a real team sport meaning you can't just pick up a few players and automatically become better.

>These players in the NFL are supposed to be the best of the best, the best from college, and yet you can easily say half of the teams are garbage. Why? Why is the level of play so fucking low?

The players are the best of the best. You look at a guy like Jadeveon Clowney who ran like a 4.4 at 270 lbs. Or Jason Pierre Paul who at the same weight did 20 backflips in a row.
25 years ago guys at that weight were the fat unathletic lineman, and this era has seen some of the greatest Quarterbacks ever to play all in their primes: Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Matt Ryan, Roethlisberger etc.

There's a ton of problems in the NFL. Everything is a penalty, Defense has been neutered, constant challenges, Goodell running the league like a Dictator, but the players aren't the problem.

it's natural, when you have 2-3 teams way above everyone else the average team will look like garbage, and in most leagues of any sport most team look like garbage anyway, the NBA is a shitshow, the MLB changes every year and with the shit ton amount of games good teams are bound to lose just from the lack of rest, the UCL which is the top divegrass tournament has only 3 or 4 legitimate contenders each year, everyone else is just filler with a slight chance of upsetting someone important, but the NFL suffers from the short schedule, so it's more obvious

Too many teams. 20 should be the limit.

Is it just me, or was there less disparity between the top and bottom 10-15 years ago?

It's you.

Posted this elsewhere

Mostly it's the result of a lot of college programs being total shit

>Here at Ohio State, we run a variation of with wing spread option, skit skat Skoodle. It's takes advantage of our players best attributes

>QB goes to the pros and can't take a snap under center

They aren't taught shit.

to be fair defensive linesmen are 100x tougher and nasty in NFL than in college, where they are just post pubescent kids

Go to bed, Roger

24 teams.

That's illogical
Perhaps they do occur more frequently, I'm not sure, but it isn't because of the NFL trying to reduce head injuries

Yeah, plus the parity is honestly not that bad. About 4 different teams look like they could win the AFC, a bunch of NFC teams look like they could take it as their conference is all over the place, and plenty of bad teams have still played spoiler in the 16 and 17th weeks or in the playoffs.

Is there any feasible way to cut the league back down at this point? The level of play would improve considerably if there were more players to go around, but I can't see any owners willingly letting go of their cash cows.

Nope. All you could do is buy out owners and shut the franchises down. NFL wants more teams though.

>Seriously, it doesn't make any sense. These players in the NFL are supposed to be the best of the best, the best from college, and yet you can easily say half of the teams are garbage. Why? Why is the level of play so fucking low?
You can put all the athleticism in the world in your team, if you don't have a good QB you're fucked.Because the QB is the alpha and omega of modern NFL offenses. You can't do anything without a good QB.
And that's hardwritten in the sport itself: only playmaker is the QB, other players are mere pawns or just need to have 1 skill, like running fast.
But if you can have 50,000 guys who run fast per year, there are probably just 1 or 2 guys per year who can play QB.
I fear that the sport will have to deeply change its rules if you want to enjoy NFL in the future (without mentioning CTE, but it's another problem)

Because the players are making more money than ever and don't give a shit whether they win or lose.
