1. White Christmas- Based Hamm. Best encapsulation of what the show's tone should be- Foreboding, sinister, not unbearably smug.
2. The Entire History of You- Greatest cuck story ever told. Kebbel's unreal.
3. San Junipero- Blatant LGBT pandering, but an effective love story nonetheless. Looks great.
4. Playtest- Neck and neck with 5. Great atmosphere, fun plot, fantastic watch. Should've ended after the 1st twist, 2nd sacrificed credulity for edginess.
5. Nosedive- Ham-fisted commentary but BDH's performance carries it. Ending worked well.
6. White Bear- Twist worked, nothing else to recommend.
7. Shut Up and Dance- Twist was shit-tier edginess, otherwise worth a recommend.
8. Men Against Fire- Move up to 3 or 4 if you haven't watched The Outer Limits' "Hearts and Minds" (1998). Otherwise painfully, pointlessly predictable.
9. Fifteen Million Merits- Very kind of Brooker to let a 14 year old George Carlin fanatic write an episode about the moral evils of porn and reality TV, real cutting edge stuff. Whitehouse would be proud.

Not who you responded to, but the problem have with a lot of BM episodes is that its almost completely reliant on the twist. I think Shut Up and Dance probably the most so.
I agree, the acting was pretty good. And it WAS a decent twist. But, everything leading up to that was pretty dull and done many times before.
I dunno, to each their own. I much prefer eps like Nose Dive and Fifteen Million that set their rules up early and then play within it.

Waldo would be better if the post credits scene didn't exist. Every single fucking time Black Mirror shits the bed by having a suitably unhappy or depressing ending and then decides 'nah, we have to make this worse to REALLY hammer the point home' and fucks it all up.
Playtest also suffers really hard from this. I also dislike that the protagonist was fucked from the start. Horror movies are great because up until the character makes a fatal mistake and dies they COULD survive. When you just have everything the protagonist does be pointless because they're already dead it's not satisfying.
