This + everything by Fugazi

That album's barely post-hardcore. I mean, it does have elements of it, but it's certainly not what most people think of when they hear he term. Listen to the discographies of Fugazi, Shellac, Unwound, and Husker Dü. Also give Relationship of Command & The Shape of Punk to Come listens.

Yank Crime is the pinnacle of post hardcore

I hear a lot of Slint influence in Fugazi and Unwound.

Fugazi - Repeater

this is a solid list. I'd also add

mclusky - mclusky do Dallas

Shellac - At Action Park

I like both of those as well.

Probably for some of Fugazi's later stuff. Definitely in Unwound's work. Tons of bands took inspiration from that album/
Wasn't a dig at Spiderland or anything, I love that album, i was just saying that since it only has elements of post-hardcore in it, he might not not necessarily like post-hardcore as a whole.

This is a must listen, too. Don't know how I forgot this, my brain must have just pushed it into emo territory or something.

These are definitely some of the better albums out of the modern stuff (of which I'm personally not a huge fan). Full Collapse is also teetering a bit over emo territory.

bumpo

Great list

Great add-on to that list

Post-fartcore

>THIS
>here, hold my beer
>I'm shook

Don't mind me. Im just posting AOTYAY.

Underoath's They're Only Chasing Safety is a good one if youre looking for something a little bit more recent. definitely not the same as 80s-90s post hardcore though, but this album, along with Saosin's Translating the Name, kind of mark the turning point into "modern" post hardcore, even though most people don't consider today's post hardcore actual post hardcore.

what about Chief Assassin to the Sinister?

Not with math rock...
