This woman is a fucking genius. She composes in extremely unusual time signatures and has no time for limiting pop structures. Her arrangements are complex and overwhelming. She's never inoffensive and her music always gets strong reactions from people. She has plenty of incredibly unique albums. Sure, she didn't invent glitch, nor chamber music, nor throat singing, but can you really find any piece of music similar to Vespertine, or Homogenic, or Medúlla, or even her more recent, controversial releases such as Biophilia and Utopia? You really can't, let's be honest here. She combines a plurality of elements in such a unique fashion that a new genre is created with each album she puts out. She is in a class of her own and there is no musician in popular music who comes close to her.

I'd say she has a great sense of atmospheric sound to create a visual image. Vespertine did that the most and it's fantastic that she produced most of the album, besides a song like Heirloom that is almost all completely one sample, though that is such a great song anyways it doesn't bother me.
