There are films and TV series, but production values are still a bit behind Western media.
If you want, check out a TV series called Nirvana in Fire (琅琊榜) for a historical fantasy drama with a lot of political intrigue.

For me it was actually 2+ years. I finally knuckled down and decided to try and pass it by downloading the mock tests and listening to them with the pdf out while looking up all the words. I listened to them every day for an hour or two for a month and at the end could pass the test with a good score. I might be a braintlet tho.
