feeling miserable

Why, what's up?

Didn't get a place in any college course I applied for. And I would have been in if I'd applied for level 7s, but I was too over-confident and only went with level 8s. Such small-seeming decisions can be the difference between great hope and major despair.

So now you'll be on /éire/ forever?

Still though, second round of offers to come.

>but I was too over-confident and only went with level 8s
I almost made the same mistake, I had to be coerced into putting them down. Would you consider repeating the year?

What points did you aim at, what did you expect to get, and what did you end up getting? How much are you short?

It seems unlikely that I'd get a second-round offer.
I would really rather not, but there's not much I can do. I'm considering doing a PLC, but I won't enjoy it at all.

Eva is class

>What points did you aim at, what did you expect to get, and what did you end up getting?
400, 350, 230
>How much are you short?
For my lowest-points course, 40 this year.

>but I won't enjoy it at all.
You might.
Your pride will be stung by failing to get a level 7/8, but you might enjoy the PLC.

...

Lux won't like that somebody surpassed him as OC King.

No offense, but how did you botch it that badly?
Were you overestimating your ability or did you botch it through not working or doing the test wrong?

...

Mostly laziness. I seriously overestimated how well I could do with minimal study done.

I don't want to rub it in lad, but I was aiming for those same points, did minimal study and got 460 points.

>I don't want to rub it in lad
You did a poor job of that

Everyone has different definitions of "minimal". Some people mean that they didn't take grinds, others mean that they barely came to school.

In 5 years time nobody will care. It won't matter. You're most likely too young to know what you want to do.
Any grown adult that looks down at somebody for getting 230 points is a retard and probably a failure on here.
Most people who are successful in life did shit in school.

Yeah, sort of sorry, in that I'm not sorry for boasting, but feel bad for you, because it is a cruel system.
Just saying that you should underestimate rather than overestimate. What did you get in your mocks, or what were you basing your estimations on?

Barely came to school. I did the mocks though. If I had gotten a bad result in the mocks I would have put more effort in.

Competition will breed better work from the both of us.

>did shit in the LC ages ago because I'm just allergic to studying

The results don't mean anything, don't even them on my CV and nobody's ever asked

STOP

GRADUATESPLAINING TO LEAVING CERT STUDENTS

>grown adult
>two years older than him

>In 5 years time nobody will care. It won't matter. You're most likely too young to know what you want to do.
This is correct, however.

>Most people who are successful in life did shit in school.
Not really. But it is true that if you have it in you to be outstanding in any field, or the wisdom and patience to build a livelihood/lifestyle for yourself, that the bullshit they put you through in school doesn't matter.
The last thing user should do is take this as a disheartening thing or gauge of future success. It's not, it's just a thing that prevented him from going to uni straight from school (which probably isn't a good thing in the first place).

Same. I've probably said it multiple times over the past month but I also got 230 points, did foundation maths, never went to uni and I'm earning over 30k a year.
Go do a fetac course. They're much easier and get distinctions. You'll be offered a uni place no problem. Especially if it's in I.T or programming etc.
Hell even a fetac course and a bit of work experience will get you a job.

Just don't become some retail slave for the rest of your life.

3.0 + 1.0 release date when?

Never ever.

I can wait, 3.0 was so shite, I can wait

Why is the Shannon so small running through Limerick? For such a long river it looks tiny.

>gay
Rather rude and below the belt.
>post screenshot
Could've at least used one that I made. I don't post Monogatari characters.
>Ugly Mayo man
Well at least something is accurate in your image.

>OC Rí
FTFY, my Anglo friend.

>Any grown adult that looks down at somebody for getting 230 points is a retard and probably a failure
Well anyone that rates someone as a person based solely on their academic record is probably a bit of a prick.
Their personality, traits, how they treat others and how much they don't mansplain to Muslims is probably a better measure.

>Why is the Shannon so small running through Limerick?
Depth and speed is more important than width. Makes it easier to suicide that way.

Jumping into rivers scares me. I have regular nightmares of it.

>now no longer possible to be given an F in the LC
>fewer grades means there's less discrepancy between students
How long until the bleeding hearts abolish it altogether in favour of a participation medal?

>>now no longer possible to be given an F in the LC
There are grades equivalent to it. Failure is just as possible as it used to be.
>>fewer grades means there's less discrepancy between students
False.

>Rí OC
FTFY, mo chara sassanach.

>Could've at least used one that I made
You didn't make any standalone posts, besides I'm not entirely convinced it wasn't you.

>a Mayo man and an anthropomorphised WW2 Japanese boat meet on a road

It doesn't really matter for any purpose since colleges will still only accept the same number of the best applicants and points or achievements in the LC become irrelevant at that point.

Please make more éire oc.

>smart but lazy
That attitude doesn't hold up in college. School is easy so you can get by with fuck all study but I found college punishes poor work ethics. I still have 2 years to salvage my degree but if only I had the Protestant work ethic

>There are grades equivalent to it. Failure is just as possible as it used to be.
Yeah, except it's not called an F, which has for a century been the accepted hallmark of failure in English-speaking education.

>False.
How could marking people on an eight-point scale not create fewer discrepancies than a fifteen-point scale?

Frankie's coming next year lads.

>I'm not entirely convinced it wasn't you
>posting lolis
What am I, a pedo?

>Please make some good éire OC for a change
FTFY, my friend with Mayo tier taste.

>I found college punishes poor work ethics
Would agree. If you don't attend your lectures and make a serious attempt at the work you are assigned you won't get very far.

>it's not called an F
Who cares? It's just a letter. We had E as well.

>which has for a century been the accepted hallmark of failure in English-speaking education
It's a good thing we encourage Irish-speaking education then.

Poi will be sickened when Mayo win the All Ireland now.

Do you learn Irish in school?

Fuck off Spanny

What kind of Munster man would be if I didn't support a Munster team.
And who knows it could be Mayo's year. Certainly has been an odd one with the amount of matches they have played, and nothing to break a curse like an odd series of events.
If they make the All-Ireland it will be their tenth match of the championship.

Who's ready for him to get assassinated by a mysterious masketta man?

don't be rude mr. potato

I just want to know, lad.

Who are those semen demons?

I'd probably get teary eyed if they actually won Sam, I can't even describe how much of a desire I have to see them do it after having come close so many times.
I still just assume they'll get refballed or a stroke of bad luck to deny them again, it's hard to believe anything else.

Looking forward to seeing Waterford win the hurling myself. Football isn't popular at all down this end of the country.

I'd say there would be some session with Enda in Coppers afterwards if they won.

Not sure if I want Waterford to win out of Munster loyalty or Galway because I admire them as a team. It will be a fantastic final regardless.

>I'd probably get teary eyed if they actually won Sam
I'd get more teary eyed like said if Waterford won the hurling.
Think a lot of people are getting tired of the Mayo4Sam meme and their fans, especially after the final and replay last year and how shit they've been for much of this year.

>Not sure if I want Waterford to win out of Munster loyalty or Galway because I admire them as a team
Well you claim to be a Munster man, plus Waterford haven't won it in a much longer period of time.
Not a very difficult choice in reality.

>Revealed: Irish kids aged 12 'cannot run, jump, catch or even hit a ball'
But the real question is, can /éire/?

What do they expect when they only select ~15 kids from each year group to actually play sport?

I know how to handle a hurl bit but I haven't played or messed around with one one about 12 years. Im sure if be useless at it.
Don't have any interest in playing either way.
Does anybody here even play sports? I'd be surprised if they did.

>Munster loyalty
>coming from the same lad that openly derides Limerick, Munster's greatest city, as stab city
Besides provincial loyalty is kind of a meme when neighbouring counties tend to be rivals.

What?

>Limerick is Munster's greatest city
It's better than Waterford, sure - but that isn't saying much.

>Besides provincial loyalty is kind of a meme when neighbouring counties tend to be rivals.
Yeah, but it's more of a sibling rivalry. In a time of need we would all unite against the Leinster menace.

>trying to drive a wedge between the counties of the greatest hurling province
Stop right there, Connacht menace.

So all the Mayo crowd will be supporting Waterford then, because of the rivalry with Galway?

>What?
Barely anybody who isn't on the teams plays sports within the school environment. It gets fairly absurd when you look at the fact that 98% of the boys would rather be out playing games, even if they're too small, fat, or uncoordinated to be on the teams.

>Barely anybody who isn't on the teams plays sports within the school environment
That varies heavily on a school by school basis in my experience.

h'are the gay boys?

youtube.com/watch?v=ebOcth80Wg8

why aren't ye an ethno nationalist again?

Still, what would you say the average of the percentage of kids who play sport within school (in an organised manner) would be?

I wouldn't doubt it, except for the people with relatives from Galway obviously. Waterford are underdogs as well which helps them as well. Mayo and Galway are a bit like Korea and Japan.

>we would all unite against the Leinster menace
A liberated Meath in our lifetime.

>All this sports talking

Mayo don't really care about the Connacht championship anymore though, Sam is the obsession and Kerry are probably the biggest thorn in our side for that. Most people out west want other western counties to do well.

Rose of Tralee in 5 minutes lads. Let's watch it together.

>I hate these normies so much
>better just keep going on about one of the main things normies consistently go on about

Pottery

>Kerry don't really care about the Munster championship anymore though, Sam is the obsession and Dublin are probably the biggest thorn in our side for that. Most people down south want other southern counties to do well.
Could say more or less the same thing for Kerry. Kerry dominate Munster and by and large Mayo dominate Connacht. Plus there are even less people that care about football in Munster and the only real rivalry is between West Cork and Kerry. In Connacht there are at least a greater number of competitive counties and it is the primary sport there.
All in all, everyone in Munster should support Kerry.

Good heavens no, I couldn't stomach that

Shit, is that today? I feel like the best parts will be over Youtube, no point sitting through 3 hours of boring shite for 10 seconds of funnys

I'd rather slit my guts out.

But watching live is the fun. Some of our best times have been watching shows live, like Autism & Me and those people in America about to get deported.

>getting cucked out of an interest in Irish sports by normies

But there might be a mad lad storming the stage again this year.

Saw a guy wearing a Waterford GAA jersey today

Where?

>having an interest in any sport whatsoever

Fuck off normie cunt

It was AA, he's after you.

Split, Croatia

Going to continue to autistically talk about the GAA on /éire/ with the lads and there's nothing you can do about it, Mr. Contrarian.

A rather popular tourist spot with Irish people lately, so hardly a surprise.

You were in Croatia earlier today?

>Again
I don't remember that

>South Korean obsessed with the Limerick Rose
This shit took a weird turn.

I still am, I'm just using my phone internet instead of the horrible hotel wifi

Lads, only 100 men applied to be escorts for the Rose of Tralee this year. Considering that there were 64 roses this year, your odds of spending a few weeks with a moderately attractive women would have been pretty good provided that you weren't hideously repulsive or a registered sex offender.

What South Korean?

Shall apply next year

lads sky is throttling my broadband ridiculously every night.
I went from 15 mbps to 0.5 after it started throttling my speed at 7:30

>using Sky for anything other than TV

This is the future you chose

Some South Korean that had no relation to her started photoshopping her in front of various landmarks around the world. Such a weird thing to bring up, even weirder that she said she blocked him but also saved all the photos he made.

i didnt choose it mummy did

It was probably just Karen.

I really like that pic.
