Liking bands is bad form.
True artistry comes from the individual.
Metallica. Dad was part of the Bay Area thrash metal movement in the 80s, so I grew up listening to them. Obviously their older stuff is much better than their later stuff.
Electric Steppe.
St. Anger around my neck...
Terrible album bro.
Mastodon, maybe Neurosis
Was he in a band we'd know?
Zeppelin
I haven't listened to anything other than John Fahey in the last 6 months.
rock'n'roll mostly but appreciate a very wide spectrum of genres
Some of that stuff was and still is amazing.
If I had to boil it dow n to one group, it'd be Radiohead I guess.
Steely Dan
Currently
King gizzard and the wizard lizard
All time favorite band - Iron Maiden
Close runner ups...Saxon, Kalmah, Iced Earth (Barlow vocals only), Overkill, and Amon Amarth.
So much good music out there.
Moon man
Please tell me somebody else likes this shit on this board besides me
Drive by truckers
THIS
Ween
King Crimson
meeee
Nah, but he got to hang out with a lot of members of big bands. Paul Baloff of Exodus, some of the guys from Death Angel, some of the guys from Slayer. The manager for Vio-lence was my dad's cousin's best friend.
>So many good choices
nice, this is why I like Radiohead.
...
Probably rubber
Vocaloid is pretty metal.
The Smiths. Been listening to nothing but them today in honor of you britbongs.
Portnoy era Dream Theater
See the little faggot with the earring
Right now? Black Lips.
Georgia garage rock band with 4 or 5 legit albums- great songs with good production
I do, but I also recognize that I have shit taste in music. When I try to get people into them I always get weird looks because they can\t wrap their heads around polyrhythmic music and don't know what the fuck is going on. They try to nod to the beat but can't find it. I have to tell them to just listen to the cymbals
Big Black
I can never pick just one band.
Here's the mp3 directory of my phone at the moment:
>mfw I actually like Tool and APC
>mfw Maynard came out as an anti-Trump faggot
Idk, but I like Metal.
not a huge fan of obzen but choasphere and destory erase improve are great.
The Jesus Lizard, like anyone who has listened to music for more than three months
good stuff. I like to put it on while doing chores around the house.
good taste
I haven't listened to anything other than Vaporwave in the past 6 months
Hell yeah man
Seriously disappointed me.
Death Magnetic was better but still doesn't hold up to the older stuff. Unforgiven III was pretty good I thought though.
Jesus Lizard is fucking great man, they're later stuff got a bit shitty but GOAT is GOAT, they're the embodiment of decades of american underground.
Meshuggah are great, djent is meme metal but they are able to combine it with some good groove and death styles
>At the Gates
>In Flames
>Dark Tranquility
>no Dissection
Get some Dissection on there.
Anything from this fine gent.
(Tom Fec/Tobacco of BMSR)
Arkona is good, but I'm not a fan of growling. Folk Metal is good.
Gojira and Strapping Young Lad > Meshuggah
Impaled Northern Moonforest is the best black metal band
Yeah, I didn't mind Death Magnetic. It was a step in the right direction. I don't think anything they do will be as good as their early stuff, but they still put on a helluva good live show.
yeah, i like that song
>Quran Quran
I'll check them out.
Magma is shit lad
Anal Cunt is the best band ever, followed by the Shaggs and Wesley Willis
JustinRPG and Chris Chan is fine too
Magma is a great weird prog rock band from france, check em out
Morbid Angel
yeah they're overrated but come on they have some godly riffs
Start with this.
>Saxon

Agreed, user. GOAT's the best loud record of all time. When they changed drummers they lost the heart of the band
I just referred somebody above to Where Dead Angels Lie. Great album. Jon was a top tier composer.
Fuck I need to see them live.
I got the Metallica star tattood on my pec back when I was 19. I was just a stupid kid and didn't even really like them as much as I do now. Still, they've been my favorite band since I can remember. I remember way back in the day my brother would blast Metallica in the mornings when all of us kids were getting up and ready for school. We all had the basement to ourselves so he'd blare it loudly while my parents were upstairs having breakfast and shit.
I miss that fucker. I should call him...
Good choice nigga. Listen to vektor too.
I almost exclusively listen to Djent right now. Spotify has a couple of great playlists: "Got Djent?" and "Instrumental Djent" (this one by a user).
My favorite bands in this genre include: Meshuggah, Vildhjarta, Uneven Structure, Animals as Leaders (!!), Anup Sastry, Intervals, Chimp Spanner, Helix Nebula, Erra, Periphery, The Room Colored Charlatan, and so many countless others.
I think it's hard to appreciate the sheer talent and technique it takes to perform djent music. It gets lost on normies who elusively listen to their top 40 pop shit.

Agalloch
Top tier non metal choice, friend.
Alice in Chains always man
The Sword is a close second
The Cars
Gloryhammer
normie. I only listen to crunkcore and pornogrind. It takes wayyyyy more skill to do that than the normie shit you listen to. Ha, I bet you don't even appreciate Shoenberg.
Vektor are great
>tfw seeing them in a tiny venue in August
>tfw fell for the Death Grips meme and started liking them unironically
I don't even like rap what the fuck
I know that feel man. Although I have seen that he has worked with Serj Tankian and Tom Morello on social justice promotions, so I figured he was pretty liberal already.
BOC, but I've been really warming up to Clutch/The Company Band these past few months
faggot
I've good things about the sword. Any song suggestions?
