So i decided to go against my gut feeling and listen to one of those Sup Forumscore albums that everyone always raves about here, and who would've thunk that my suspicions were correct from the beginning.
It's just boring old radioready hipster indie music, how do you guys rate this shit so highly I mean wtf

Listen to it again

This is p4kcore not Sup Forumscore

i'd rather not, there's much better chamber pop to listen to. Pic related for example

i prefer neon bible but i still love this album

Then you'll never understand

Oh, yes, "Laika" sounds exactly like a Radiohead song, what with the accordion, xylophone, female vocals, live string arrangements, and baroque structure.

I agree. Arcade Fire were always wildly mediocre.
It just feels super targeted toward college coming-of-age normies.
Id rather listen to Bruce Springsteen.

whatever man, I think I got a pretty good grasp of the album from my listen to it and I just wasn't impressed. Same thing with all the other stuff that Sup Forums loves like Radiohead. It's not that it's necessarily bad or anything it's just so uneventful when compared to something just a bit more obscure and because of that is just kind of boring

How many times have you heard OK Computer in it's entirety?

2 or 3

>tripfag with an uninformed opinion
Wow.

Try and ignore what Sup Forums likes and explore your own personal taste. It's far more enjoyable.

>thunk
not surprised

trust me, i do. It's just that every once in awhile I try and give Sup Forums a chance. And every once in awhile it works, but not often

It was my brothers favorite album and he would play it practically every day and really insisted that i like it too.
It was way too hyped up for me. I think its decent, but every sound sort of just melts together. None of the moments that were trying to hit me actually hit me, and there are a lot of moments on that album. Eh.

i like the upbeat songs on this but the moody slow songs are all crap, they don't ruin the flow so i just listen through them instead of skipping but they're not especially good songs. so already this is an album i only like half of. I guess Crown of Love is alright if I had to pick a favourite out of those but it's still melodramatic and kind of ugly sounding. Neighborhood #1, 2, and 3 have really interesting sound design and great lyrics and incredible energy. Wake Up is an anthem like they've never done before or since and feels incredibly powerful with its multiple sections increasing in intensity at just the right moments, even though it drops the interesting mixing for radio friendly mixing, it's a change of pace so it's welcome variety. Rebellion (Lies) is a good single although the weakest of the upbeat song it's the only one with a really conventional song structure so it stands out too, and again the murkiness of its sound adds a real sense of mystery.

>thunk
you're bleeding reddit

link me to 3 different reddit posts that use the word thunk you fucking turd

on other thing In the Backseat is good as a closer, kind of weak as a standalone song, but as someone who wants to sing along to the album because it's a good type of album to sing along to, I can't wrap my head around what Regine is doing with her voice on this track. I can't copy it, anyway, no matter how many times I try

>Normies.
>I'd rather listen to Springsteen.
>Surprise.
>You're the normie

Wow, another one of this threads. 100% interesting and original.

Yes user... Everyone and their mother knows that Arcade Fire is a terrible band. Do we really need another thread to remind ourselves of it?

>this is Sup Forumscore not /mucore/
okay?

he said radio-ready u dip

It is so highly rated because it was a very important release in terms of redefining the "indie rock" sound.

lot's of critic argue that it is the best album of the 2000s, so if you didn't enjoy it personally, good for you for going against the grain.

I will never understand how this for garbage made it to so high in the RYM all-time chart.

Not even the best album of that year by a long, looooooong shot. (Madvillainy.)

Whats it like having such unbelievably shit taste? Genuinely curious.

This is completely unlike Funeral and the songwriting isn't even as good.
Listen to more music, read up on a bit of music theory and then listen to Funeral again.
