Corporations are people

Corporations are people

...

They are formed by people and run by people and what's good for them is good for the people

Nice 2012 meme

What was his name again?

How does that make a corporation people?

An ant hill is made by ants, inhabited by ants, and serves the interests of ants, but it's not an ant.

It's true, I met a corporation the other day and he was an honest chap

What's good for the anthill is good for the ants

R-Money

>TFW there are 36 genders
>TFW none of them are corporation

What is this blatant bigotry?

and if the anthill is made of toxic waste?

Mexican Romney

Corporations are for the shareholders. i.e. the Elites/Upper Class. Build your own foundation. One does not get rich being an employee.

>not being a shareholder

What are you, poor? a NEET?

Thanks Wal-Mart glad your employees are at work and not posting excrement online.

If corporations weren't treated as people for legal purposes, you wouldn't be able to sue them like a person. So if a walmart truck driver swerved off the road and crippled you while you were standing on a sidewalk, you'd only be able to sue the driver, not the company.

The issue and the comment was specifically to the point of weather or not the Democrats should feel entitled to silence people, the ants, who formed, ran and benefited from corporations.

The question ought to be why in the view of the left are unions owed more rights in their world than corporations.

opposition to citizens united essentially comes down to "i don't want entities i don't agree with making political contributions"

I will NEVER let my daughter date a corporation.

It's not black and white chief. You can sue organized groups of people.

Allowing corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money on politicians allows them to tip the scales of democracy. If you support citizens united and you aren't rich as god you are submissive baby back bitch who hates freedom.

Exactlty.

>Allowing corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money on politicians allows them to tip the scales of democracy. But lay off our unions. That's perfectly legit.

So? Nothing stops you from making a corporation and spending unlimited money on your candidate. The system is fair

Unions represent the working class and work for working class intetests.

Trump rides on anger towards the political establishment and the state-corporate elite. Who do you think is in that privileged bunch? It sure as shit not the plumbers and auto workers union members and leaders.

Why people in this country insist on voting against their own interests is beyond me.

The "corporations are people" is a term that is used in law to describe CERTAIN applications of law to corporations.

For example, corporations have the right to stand trial like people do. The government can't send in police to steal a corporation's property with out going through a legal process. So instead of writing out the whole due process laws again for corporations, the law just simply states "in this instance a corporation is to be a person."

On the other hand, there are situations where a corporation isn't a person (voting). It is all about keeping regulations efficient.

For some reason, ignorant leftists can't wrap their heads around this idea and choose to make this phrase out to be something it is not.

Except when it comes to pleading the Fifth.

voting for trump is not in anyone's interests but i wouldn't expect an entitled machine operator to understand that

>unions are somehow worse than MNCs who buy out your politicians en masse to rig the game in their favor against you

You are being fucked harder than a white girl in a crackhouse Your brain has been hijacked and turned against you by people far more intelligent than you.

>Looking at a societal problem on an individual level

>a certain class of people deserve their political activity, which I will deny to another class of people.
And that's why the supreme court ruled against your disgusting, partisan, and anti-American point of view.

I'm not a Trumpfag, so don't think you're going to use him as a tool to bait me.

>Your brain has been hijacked and turned against you by people far more intelligent than you.

You've basically described the average Sanders/Trump voter

This.

It's basically a litmus test to determine whether you are too ignorant to have a meaningful political opinion.

Clinton

Trump

Sanders

One of these is bought out by the biggest financial institutions in the United States, can you guess which one??

>One of these is bought out by the biggest financial institutions in the United States

Ummm utterly incorrect

>says the guy supporting one of the most blatant offenses to democracy in the history of the United States

I like how he tried to make Trump's tax returns an issue after not releasing his for the longest time during the 2012 campaign

Fuck this mormon piece of shit

Interesting, now who gets paid millions to have private speeches to financial institutions with secret transcripts? Is it Sanders?... doesn't seem right. Trump maybe? No he seems to use his own money.. Oh yeah

Legal entity != person

Tell that to Alito in his Hobby Lobby opinion.

There is literally nothing wrong with making paid speeches - all kinds of people do it all the time.

If Trump had any relevance he'd be doing it too, but he is reduced to hustling old men with more money than sense at his """"""""""university""""""""""

Hillary please go

You are so obviously a shill it's not even funny. Jesus fucking Christ you guys are bad at social psychology. I hate these people, I'm a leftist and I can blend in when I want to but I'm not being paid for it.

Tell your boss you're fuckin useless bro.

>>says the guy supporting one of the most blatant offenses to democracy in the history of the United States

Proving my point.

Everything you speak through except your own whingy voice is provided to you by a corporation...Sup Forums, newspaper, radio, tv, your computer, a megaphone, your church, greenpeace, etc.

>I know, I'll call him a shill
Yes, so different from the Trump crowd, Mr. Sanders supporter.

Not an argument

Nice primetime MSM tier strawman.

That's not the point. I don't care that corporations exist, I care that they are allowed to buy politicians with an even more efficient method they had before.

...

>secret transcripts
>implying there are transcripts
>implying there was ever a speech
>implying those """speeches""" aren't just bribes

>Corporations are people
That pathologically seek profit at the expense of all life on the planet.

If you don't know that the internet and Sup Forums is flooded with shills by 2016 you might as well get neutered because it's so goddamn obvious and their existence is constantly leaked.

Yeah, you're paid to be here and are trained in manipulation. You don't have genuine intent, it's a valid argument.

So corporations like greenpeace or the ny times should have their political speech regulated?

Do you see how stupid you sound?

I think you are just funnin' but want to be sure.

If you seriously do believe that there is no hope for you

>Release the transcripts plox

Lol fair point. It's basically just selling bribes.

The system is rigged in favor of the rich. It's socialism for them, capitalism for the rest of us.

Why not slightly rig it in favor of the 99%, of which you belong? And keep in mind that "slightly rigging the system in favor of the 99%" entails shit like affordable education and healthcare, not a pass on illegal behavior, being above the law and controlling our political institutions.

I guess I can't talk sense into a retarded right winger that is so cucked by the upper class that they think organized labor and democratic power sharing is somehow un-American. Go and take Reagan's cock up your ass some more. His seed will trickle down on you, just keep waiting. You're a Republican so gutless that you're not even supporting Trump on the one thing he is right about: you are a true conservacuck, congratulations, go run to your masters.

Maybe if those politicians weren't such a valuable thing, there wouldn't be as much of a lure to buy them, hmm?

Elections should be publicly funded. I don't want any corporation or powerful entity funneling money toward candidates. It's open corruption.

Now tell me, what were those millions spent on internet astroturfing? What was done with that money user? Surely not internet sockpuppets right?

It's a decent argument for small government conservatism, but there are other solutions as well. Public funded campaigns is a nice start.

On Sup Forums? No campaign has been that sophisticated

Kek

>Sup Forums unironically using 4 year old reddit memes
fucking kek

Lmao literally the easiest site to astroturf. No account history avaliable to your average user, anonymous posters.

I am corporation-kin, shitlords

Citizens United made unlimited spending by unions legal to, which are much more likely to use privilege, so fuck off.

So what about news organizations?
They need to spend money to operate

I'm a member of the 100%, and the one, not even a Republican. I don't recognize the legitimacy of your class war. It doesn't serve me.
>let's rig this thing
If you are confronted with a wrong, as you maintain is a system is rigged in favor of the rich, you propose another wrong to right it.

Disgusting, as I said.

More control to unelected regulators is never the solution, more so that the thing you propose be regulated is political activity itself. It seems that giving that power away in our present circumstances of a massive inducement to control is a huge mistake.

>Elections should be publicly funded. I don't want any corporation or powerful entity funneling money toward candidates. It's open corruption.

You think it is less corrupt for Congress to decide who will have enough money to run for Congress?

Not a counter

There are ways to do it. Countries all over the world do this successfully.

I fully respect your argument and believe you're the most right.

Fuck them they're all infiltrated and bought out by the same financial institutions that buy our politicians. When the same institutions own Clinton, CNN and our central bank Americans start to realize something is fucked up
