Why Europe has ZERO consumer electronics industry?

Why Europe has ZERO consumer electronics industry?

not really, they have a lot of local brands that most of us don't know about

europe is stuck in the past

Europe has Siemens and Philips you silly little man.

*and Grunding.

Honestly can't think of a many relevant British electronics companies. Dyson? KEF?

France, Italy and Spain are even worse.

Most of the French electronics industry is geared towards entertainment production, aerospace and security/military applications these days.
Consumer side, there's still Archos, Wiko and Sagem.

Because it's next to impossible to create a new groundbreaking product and a production capacity for it in a market where there are pages and pages of regulations to satisfy even for a toothbrush let alone something much more complicated.

Just look at it, most european large tech companies in any field are older than the union itself and were founded back in the beginning of the 20th century or earlier.

>a market where there are pages and pages of regulations to satisfy even for a toothbrush let alone something much more complicated.
why do they do this

because business is a piece of shit everywhere and if you dont regulate theyll be selling products that will kill you

Not true.

What? Europeans are better at engineering than you stupid red cabbage munchers

Because people are retarded. When a technological product doesn't match their needs, instead of buying the competitor's product or voice their issues with the manufacturer, they go to the EU bureaucrats and have them write regulations that force the producer to do what the customer wants.

This is very dangerous because economies must support buisnesses to be easily created and destroyed because otherwise you keep depending on and defending ancient monopolies that keep you under reign.

grundig isn't european

Hey my first phone is Sagem

>they go to the EU bureaucrats and have them write regulations that force the producer to do what the customer wants.
this is infuriating.

what about bosch

Nokia?

>because business is a piece of shit everywhere and if you dont regulate theyll be selling products that will kill you
Killing your own customers off doesn't seem like a very sound business practice desu.

100 years ago, yes.
today, not really.

Because for some reason someone decided that Yurop ought to be outsourcing the electronics industry and most others to asia-pacific and/or straightforward dismantle ours, encourage yours and give you lemonheads a gratis total access to our markets.
