This place was so lit on Friday nights...

Only 90's kids will know this feel...

>looking down when passing the horror section

DUDE REMEMBER PORN IN THE WOODS LOL

yeah. Blockbuster was the last hint of American community to disappear before we became plugged into the jew matrix

it's literally the last place I used to see women

Damn user why'd you have to make me feel. My parents would get together with my friend's parents after school and take us all to peter piper, mc donalds or mini golf. At the end of the night my parents would take us to blockbuster to rent a movie. If they were in a good mood theyd let my brother and I rent a few games. That blockbuster smell.

What was the last movie you rented before it died?

The third Bionicle film.

...

I don't remember what film, but I rented a copy of the game Halo 3: ODST, didn't return it before they closed and they didn't do shit to get it back

80s kid older fag, remembering having a smoke inside trash talking movies on friday night

Do any of you even have the attention span it requires to watch a full movie anymore? Because I don't.

>go to the anime section
>the workers put hentai up thinking it was just regular anime

I watch my kino in 2.35x while posting on Sup Forums

I also only read the key words in a text.

only brits will understand

I miss video rental places so much. Redbox just isn't the same.

That looks sketchy.

why does britiain always look like a 3rd world country in images?

Have you seen their urban demography?

Only leafs will know this feel....

>Go to gas station
>Half of it is full of VHS rentals
>Go to grocery store
>2-3 shelves of VHS tapes for rent
>Go to laundromat
>Room with several shelves dedicated to VHS and NES/SNES/Sega rentals
>Go to tanning salon
>Whole place is actually a rental shop with only a small room in back with a couple tanning beds
>Old bank building
>Now a video rental store
>Strip mall opens
>Mom & Pop rental store opens with a giant selection

Only 80's kids will know this feel...

The corporate chain stores are what ruined all the fun. The 90s sucked so much fucking ass.

It was actually better before every town had at least two Blockbusters. My childhood video store was best.
>hopscotch printed on the carpet
>kid section was inside a large cardboard castle
>porn room was never well guarded
>overpriced candy and frostbitten ice cream sandwiches that mom would always reluctantly buy us

>Busy in here tonight

>lit
literally kill yourself millenial scum

Holy shit, those covers.
I remember nearly all of them from staring at them every few days trying to decide which one I wanted to rent.

We didn't have a Blockbuster nearby when I was a kid (we lived innawoods, awkwardly far away from the two decently-sized towns on either side), but there was a place called The Movie Loft in our little village area. It was always decently busy way back in the day, had a great selection. Video games were available too, so you were never short of things to pick out. I loved it, it's where my parents would go to surprise me with a movie or a game if I had been good. It was great just wandering the aisles, with or without my Dad, and just looking at all the covers and posters.

I remember there was a young guy who worked there at the time, real quiet, but still nice. He'd been there as long as I could remember. He kind of had an odd-looking face, I don't know if it was congenital, but he looked relatively happy working there so I never thought he looked ugly. I think he worked there right up til the place shut down awhile ago.

Feels bad though. I recently went back to my hometown and stopped by the local pharmacy and saw the guy from all those years ago working there. He looks miserable now, definitely doesn't seem happy with his job. Worse yet, it's in the same square where the Movie Loft used to be, just across the parking lot. I wanted to ask about it, tell him I recognized him from those days and that whenever I think about the ML I remembered him too, but I thought it'd come across as too weird so I didn't.

Kids these days really miss out on the whole video rental store vibe, it's too bad.

gran torino. the girl behind the counter was so into our conversation that she ended up charging the guy behind me with my movie and he didnt even notice. 1 week later that blockbuster closed. so i still got the movie around my house somewhere

Yeah, but now they can watch any show they want at any time, wherever. Plus they get to see high quality nude pics of their classmates on their iphone on the reg. I don't feeltoo bad for them tᶀh fạm.

worked at a Blockbuster equivalent video-store in the mid 90s, (late 94 until early 96). Assistant manager, I worked evenings and had to close the place up at 11 after spending the evening just hanging around with the cashiers (all attractive 18-20 y.o. females) and watching movies (Tommy Boy, Brady Bunch Movie, The Fugitive, etc) on the two big CRTs slung in the corners and helping myself to candy from the bagged candy stand on the counter (Peach Rings, Fruit Runts, etc), easiest time of my life, miss it sometimes now that I have 1 wife, 2 kids, 3 cars, an ex...

I know you're memeing. But this is a shitty forced meme. Memes based on nostalgia are the worst memes.

Lion King 1/2. Still have it

he has no idea how bad things will get

daily reminder

also

>tfw the new CEO in the mid 00's still doubled down on physical rentals instead of online and put a bunch of money into brick and mortar right before they went bankrupt

>can't download porn because the WWW doesn't exist yet
>have to rent an "adult movie" from the porn section and take it to a teenager at the checkout counter
>they look at the movie and probably announce the title to make sure you didn't rent the incorrect film

Just imagine the spaghetti

t. born in 1998

Killzone 3.

fuck man, they were in prime position to dominate online rentals too...oh well

>Could have purchased Netflix
