What are some albums you think don't get enough attention?

Or really anything from them

Gonna get some hate for this, especially because of that RHCP faggot. But this is genuinely a great rock album if you exclude Purple Stain or Californication. Should be in the top 500 for best albums on RYM.

That one, OP. Fucking incredible album. Checking your dubs, by the way.

theyre my favorite band, but people love them and they are super influential.

technically a mixtape sorry

Underrated in terms of the rest of their albums, even though Fake Train is still their best this is a close second.
Nice I'll check it out.

Not sure if you ever have listened to Toro before, but its completely different than his usual work. Trap influences, with some really insane production.

Faraquet - A View From This Tower
Polvo - Today's Active Lifestyles
Bitch Magnet - Ben Hur

Rodan and Unwound definitely deserve more love. New Plastic Ideas is amazing.

Started listening to Bitch Magnet's "Umber" recently and I'm loving it. Maybe you'd like Gastr del Sol's "Serpentine Similar" if you haven't already heard it. Will have to check out Polvo and Faraquet though.

Umber is great, but Ben Hur is an improvement in every way. I seriously think it's one of the best albums of the 90s. Dragoon is on another level.
Interestingly, David Grubbs from Gastr guests/joined the band on Ben Hur. Serpentine Similar is the folky debut one, right? Decent stuff. I prefer Camofleur, just as good as any Tortoise album, no idea why they didn't get as popular.

The whole 90's post-rock scene really was a thing of beauty. Will be checking out the rest of Bitch Magnet's stuff though.

His best album

my favorite album by them is challenge for a civilized society but everyone says it's their weakest work by far

Hopefully people realize how progressive this is years down the line. Lightyears ahead of their previous work.

David is a GOAT and a God

I used to be like that but after realizing the beauty of Sonata for Loudspeakers, I'm hooked.

fo real dawg

I really like the opening track but not the rest. I mean, it's good, but not exactly my thing.

Ever seen a movie called Half Cocked?

Never got why people shit so hard on this album, it's mostly solid pop and when it's not it's often a surprising resurgence to Pornography form. The Promise is also arguably their best take on psych rock.

Never, also checked.

it's all done from within the Louisville scene and it uses that slow song heavily in the score.

>Today's Active Lifestyles
Overrated compared with Exploded Drawing

I only listened to D.I. Go Pop and it was pretty bad. Maybe I should try 5 EPs

I prefer Contours desu

my favorite Unwound album easily.

bump

Kansas' ST

I know that it’s not, but I’m going to pretend that’s Kate Bush in the back so I could beat off

At the risk of sounding like a dumb weeb, the OST for Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt is legitimately incredible. Seriously, just try it.

Flemish Altruism by the band A Minor Forest
People who bring it up say that it sounds like Spiderland, and I think that's true to an extent, the whole thing is excruciatingly long but there are some wonderful tracks, Bill's Mom Likes to Fuck is one of the most beautiful, crushingly depressive songs I've heard. Theres this vampiric, claustrophobic feel that runs throughout the whole thing with "angular" mathy guitar lines and the whole thing deserves to be mentioned at least as much as Rodan and all those other bands. They're produced by Albini too if that says anything.

The For Carnation
It rivals Spiderland.
