Why do people like this movie so much? It wasn't that good.

DUDE PATRIOTISM LMAO

SENPAI YEAH DESU

Because it's that good.

What happened? Did the replace the original cut with a new shittier version? Did the film stock degrade?

>it was good but it wasn't THAT good

The skirmishes and battles were more realistic than anything ever attempted by Hollywood ever before
Really gives you an idea of what violence of action means
And also how arbitrarily you can be killed

It means you're a faggot contrarian, and everyone knows it.

You know how I know you were born in 1999?

good post

muh jingoism

>what is 19 years of progression

>Americans fighting = Amazing
>Germans fighting = Scum
I have no idea why it was portrayed as such an immoral move for the german soldier to A: fight for his country B: lie to safe his life.

It wasn't about either.
If you watch it from a soldier's perspective, you'll see that there is no rights or wrongs in war. You do horrible shit you'd never imagine in a million years doing. Lying is the least egregious thing you can do at that point.
I was honestly surprised they didn't hose that Nazi down when they started to head out from that radar post.

Nah it was good

The movie hasnt changed in 19 years people's attitudes have.

>simple story
>cool battle scenes
>no women

In the end the guy who never shot someone in the entire movie, got himself in danger just to kill the german guy who lied to them.
And maybe i'm wrong but i felt like that was portrayed as necessary move because he lied to him.
Sorry i cant articulate myself its 4am i just woke up.

It was necessary for Upham because he was the one that stood up for him and indirectly got Captain Miller killed.
He had to make things right for his own honor. He also learned a valuable lesson to never let an able enemy go.

>Kill people for honor.
>Dont have mercy.
Doesnt sound like good messages for me.

"muh manly tears" used as a justification for war never fails to pull in plebs who would otherwise not fall for propaganda

post yfw this scene

Never post again. Fag

>Jewish guy mocks German soldiers with his religion
>Gets killed with a Hitler youth knife
What does it mean

It's war asshole
