how's your year coming along thus far, musically? made interesting discoveries? cold, tepid, lukewarm, hot opinions to share? just wans to unwind and unload?

last.fm not required but it's a cool visual aid
How's your year coming along thus far, musically? made interesting discoveries? cold, tepid, lukewarm...
doin ok. jeff was the biggest find
forgot to include this stuff in the screenshot
fucking video games man I swear to god
you're a cool visual aid, bb
do you like faure
like, a lot
he's very french
do you like his songs
my name jeff
>monteverdi
>psychic tv
very nice
that's an impressive amount of plays, especially considering how ahead it is of the others
I'm not sure why I listened to less music in february
He's very French, but not as French as Satie is, though ofc "frenchness" is a vague concept
Famine is also incredibly French but he's not a turn of the 20th century composer
been the same as usual really ie pleb stuff
i'm actually not in the mood for pop tonight i think, listening to bob dylan rn
video games are nice they distract me from the hell known as life
>that's an impressive amount of plays, especially considering how ahead it is of the others
it was a serious obsession when I found it in January. listened to it once or twice a day for the rest of the month + all of February. highly recommend it to people who like high-energy, loud pop music.
oops wrong pic
Haven't found too much yet, still digging back into my history to rediscover stuff
Biggest one is Night Moves
>though ofc "frenchness" is a vague concept
wtf I thought you were 100% national front
do you like binding of isaac
is all I've been playing
word
FN can't agree on what it is either
they can't even agree on their own party name
Last few years I at least started out trying to keep track of the new releases before giving up, this year it seems like I didn't even try.
It's been ok, I liked Sigh already but I'm really into them lately. Great stuff.
dang, you've been getting through stuff big time. Nice one.
fucking video games indeed.
hey pop how's it goin
listened to lots of singles and eps so the top albums arent that interesting
Eli and the 13th confession was a great find for me. I've tried some other laura nyro, and some other 60s folk, but that album is such a unique blend of so many genres I love it
Emergency and I was another great discovery. I should have checked that album out years ago. I always loved the album art
I was listening to stereolab the other day and realized that that sound I like from them is their lounge music influence, so I went and dl'ed some 60s/70s lounge music. That piero piccioni album is my favorite so far
Omni, palm, and Katie dey are some other good discoveries
Sorry this was so long I'm in the middle of writing an essay so my juices are kind of flowing
Video games are tight
So are psychic tv and funkadelic
I knoe life isnt hell because hell for me would be an eternity of genital mutilation
And my genitals haven't been mutilated since I was a baby
What's the best gaga release
Same
I tried a lot in 2015, 2016, and 2017 but I don't think I really care this year
Nice soichi terada and go team
Minutemen is classic though
What's your best discovery boku
the ichiko aoba live album I really should have gotten to listen to last year but somehow did not
i hear good things about it but i never tried it
things arent great but they could be worse, hoping things pick up soon
how about you how are you doing
the fame's my favourite
did you like that gfoty? i wasnt a big fan of it desu
yup, can't help but listen to minutemen all the time
things are a bit rough but emotionally I'm doing ok, just got a lot on my mind.
I plan on downloading the fame at some point today
I really liked the gfoty album
What did you not care for? Was it too experimental or not experimental enough?
Hope the rough part gets smoother
its been a while since i heard it and that was only once admittedly so i dont remember it really, just that i didn't like it that much
but maybe i need to give it another try
Quietly until I got sick
Satie > Bach, only because I prefer the piano
Try Kid Koala if you like The Avalanches
Nice, even if you're doing it wrong
Do you like soul? I can't remember?
Try Skeewiff - The Disco album if you liked Todd Terje? And Kid Koala too
I don't really
going really good actually, a lot of new discoveries and rediscoveries. very pleased.
What did you think of kid koala's ambient pop album last year?
been a lot less interested in listening to/finding new music as of late, though i've been bumping that new david byrne a fair bit even if it's a bit lackluster
+world's end girlfriend, satie
+jeff
Worry is by far his best work, i'm sure you've listened to his other stuff too but be sure to revisit We Cool? a few times because I slept on it for the longest time.
+ape escape, polygondwanaland
boards of canada old tunes are pretty nice
found some really good artists this year, 68', King Krule, etc
>be sure to revisit We Cool? a few times
For sure, man. I slept on it too. It's actually #5 on that list, though (115 scrobbles). Get Old Forever is Jeff's best song in my opinion, and Nausea is just a classic.
Thanks for the rec!!! Love The Avalanches and haven't heard anything that scratches that itch like they do.
Listened to a lot of albums with only a couple songs (Faust, lots of jazz) so my scrobble count on any one album for the year is pretty low and my highest scrobbled aren't the ones with the most listens by far
