Redpill me on Brexit. I'm a stupid American who knows nothing. I only know that Olly was against it, so it's a good thing, but what does it really mean?

It means the UK has a great deal more independence in self-governing. The most significant issue is economic, but probably the issue that got most people to vote for it is that the UK doesn't have to accept so many refugees and immigrants just because Merkel says so.

...

damn this fucker aged badly

his entire argument was basically "the people who support it are racist"

Oh, so they may be able to start pushing back?

That's great news!

Lots of things will need to be restructured: trade, travel, and law.

It means they're selling us down the river to russia again by making europe weak and divided.

Because of shit like this I really thought remain would win via media influence, fear and propaganda. How the fuck leave actually won I'll never know, I guess the working class all voted and outweighed the liberal SJW vote.

Yes

This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England,
This nurse, this teeming womb of royal kings,
Fear'd by their breed and famous by their birth,
Renowned for their deeds as far from home,
For Christian service and true chivalry,
As is the sepulchre in stubborn Jewry,
Of the world's ransom, blessed Mary's Son,
This land of such dear souls, this dear dear land,
Dear for her reputation through the world,
Is now leased out, I die pronouncing it,
Like to a tenement or pelting farm:
England, bound in with the triumphant sea
Whose rocky shore beats back the envious siege
Of watery Neptune, is now bound in with shame,
With inky blots and rotten parchment bonds:
That England, that was wont to conquer others,
Hath made a shameful conquest of itself.

But that's now at an end.

The UK stood up for herself.

That's right, to compete with Russia we must become like them, all following one supreme leader like Putin. Let's forget about dumb stuff like national sovereignty.

What I find really funny is how the working class are being snubbed by papers now as "low-income voters". The left talks about fighting for the oppressed against the greedy "1%" all the time, but when the oppressed do it for themselves, they're snubbed.

The EU is an authority governed by no democratic process. It is a globalist experiment in consolidation of power. It should not exist and this is the first step to ensuring that it doesn't.

They shot their load too hard and too quickly. You can shame a lot of people into doing a lot of things by calling them racist but it was a secret vote and shaming only works for so long, in the end you only harden resistance.

(((rosenfeld)))

Why would Putin care about this? I keep seeing this buzzphrase. Putin wants sanctions lifted, unless this affects that, he doesn't care. It's not like NATO breaking up.

>the UK doesn't have to accept so many refugees and immigrants just because Merkel says so
The fuck bruh, the UK was mudslime central way before Merkel

Don't forget uneducated as well as being low-income!
To be fair, I am poor and don't have a degree in identity studies.

In case you didn't notice, he is drunk all the time.

But not before the EU, which Merkel happens to be somewhat of the leader of currently.

Certainly, London was always multicultural, but now the Cockney accent is about to go extinct according to estimates, and they have a Muslim mayor. It's a whole new level.

The sanctions might get lifted as an indirect result of this, but it also depends on who's voted in as the next American president.

It's all a giant clusterfuck until the whole Brexit shit is sorted anyway.

Indians aren't the same as (((refugees)))

That too.

But if it was the other way around, and they won because of the lower class, it would be a "victory against oppression".

Meme magic, friend. You can't keep denying it.

This killed the anti-Russian alliance in the EU. Cameron was the major anti-Russian force within the big three France-UK-Germany, now the Big three are France,Italy Germany and they are all pro Russia to various degrees. Nobody actually listens to butthurt belt.

This vote seems completely backwards for the left and right - the left clearly voted for the establishment here, while maintaining the guise of fighting "for the people" (aka "muh poor oppressed immigrants" who will be largely unaffected by this anyway). I think the left has become more about race these days than actual politics.

Isn't John Oliver a literally who in the UK?

>A new UK not antagonistic to Russia

Am Brit, can confirm.

Had no fucking idea who this guy was before I read this thread.

Seem like a tosser.

I came to Sup Forums yesterday expecting the right wing people to be an example of hate and ignorance.
I was surprised to find literally hundreds of screenshots exhibiting the ignorance and oppressive nature of left wing idiots.
I understand a deal of this is cherry picking, but fuck look that this shit.

So well done Sup Forums you have impressed me. You somehow manage to be less hateful and stupid then the people who are over the top liberal.

And for the record, I am somewhat in the middle politically and voted leave.

>Certainly, London was always multicultural, but now the Cockney accent is about to go extinct according to estimates, and they have a Muslim mayor. It's a whole new level.
None of those is a result of the EU policies. I suppose you can blame Polacks, Romanians, and others for settling in, but they are a finite number with Eastern European birth rates taking a nosedive and still are less numerous than non-EU born British residents.
One of the promises of Leave campaigners was that they are going to be able to get more immigrants from the Commonwealth instead of the EU once they leave. I suppose it was to boost the Paki and Pajeet vote for Brexit and they might always go back on it, but certain regions in England were on their way to caliphate way before the first rapefugee arrived in Germany.

...

The left has become about "micropolitics"--as in, "How are women represented in video games?" and "Why aren't white girls dating minorities more?" Things that can't be addressed by actual policy.

The poster is an American. John Oliver's piece on Brexit couldn't even air in the UK until after the vote

>None of those is a result of the EU policies.
It's a result of the refugee crisis, which the EU has chosen how to deal with.

My personal favorite

Don't listen to these blue pilled 12 year olds.

It's just a meme story to cover up shemitah. Sup Forums is not red pilled. They eat up every single mainstream story like any typical goy

I assume this is in reference to something?

Link?

>things that were in motion for 30+ years and have nothing to do with the EU, but with former British colonies are a results of 2010s refugee crisis

Are you denying that the refugee crisis has lead to a massive increase in immigration?

Living in a Leave constituency while I voted Remain.

I'm a 22 year old, just graduated and debating if to do my masters in Economics.

Firstly, both campaigns have been absolute shit. The Leave campaign resorted to lying and fallacies in order to convince voters, as well as implying they would promise to spend the money we send to the EU Budget would be spent domestically. One of the Leave's adverts was a picture of a map, highlighting Turkey and mentioning it's population.

You also had the several NHS adverts on the Leave campaign which basically painted it as a dystopian nightmare if we remain in the EU for any moment longer.

Now the Remain campaign was just lack lustre as they couldn't decide how to convince voters how to consider remaining. Their leaflets didn't highlight any significant points like the Leave campaign attempted to do. Basically the Remain campaign just handed out paper saying "more jobs if we stay in EU", which is technically true, but so vague.

I'm disheartened not by the fact we're leaving a political and economical union which gave more benefits than costs, but it's the fact that the Leave campaign managed to convince the demos with absolute half baked lies.

Either way, if you're in the UK right now, we'll have to deal with Scotland and Ireland, a new PM, more expensive goods (we import a fair chunk of perishable FMCG from Europe) and that Heineken is gonna be a tad more expensive because "muh sovereignty" & "fukkin brown people"

but doesn't he kinda have a point here?

He conveniently didn't consider the possibility of white people fucking whites.

>a majority of the country votes to change something they don't like

Oh my God, how dare they?! Now we have to work to build a better future instead of maintaining status quo!

Nice blogpost you faggot. Nobody cares about you or your moronic political leanings.

This one makes me legit mad, and not because of the paris attack. He's so full of shit but HE KNOWS his audience is eating it up. He gets to have that smug look for spreading blatant misinformation while I have to watch my words just in case I accidentally get "to real." Fuck this gay earth, man. John Olly McFuckedteeth will die a horrible death if I have to do it myself.

Not to England.
Top countries for the current wave of "refugees" are Germany and Sweden still, and on the way they shit up coastal countries like Greece and Italy, which may or may not change depending on what the EU does about it, if anything.
Most of those who wanted to get to the UK are still stuck in Calais.
Britain was enriched way before the EU got any say. Not denying that not being bound by the EU regulations will stop slav immigration and save them from the possible influx of current rapefugees with euro passports 10 or 20 years down the line, but unless they go full wall + ethnic cleansing, but they're still fucked with their Muslim population.

I am fairly low income, I voted out, but I do have a degree (in History, hence the low income, study STEM kids)

>Casually ignored the fact that I stated the Leave campaign have been twisting the facts, and even the £350 million which Nigel had to dumbed down to £10 million on Question time

Never change Sup Forums

Calm down, Brexit passed

Brexit passed

The tide is turning

youtube.com/watch?v=w9zP59_98s8

This was an argument of the brexiters but it's not true

It absolutely is true, if you take people as citizens, the UK has to allow them full access.

Sovereignty is a good argument famalam you miss it pretty soon when it's gone. Give it a few weeks everything will be fine, different but fine.

Nope

>people in this thread being gullible as fuck

You do realize there have been quite a few EU related referenda where people voted "No" to EUSSR bullshit but all of them were either redone until they had the wanted result or just ignored?

Not this one. This is serious

Yes, the EU has open labor movement.

Once again you remainers resort to an argument that boils down to "you're stupid" followed by an appeal to authority.

You don't address the position that the EU is an irreparably poor implementation of a possibly laudable concept, beginning with the lack of direct accountability of appointed EC commissioners and bookended by the infeasibility of monetary union without fiscal union.

Don't you think such ad hominem aspersions smack of veiled elitism? Isn't it possible that perhaps people understood the remainers arguments perfectly and simply didn't find them particularly compelling or believable? Furthermore, rather than blaming 52% of British voters, isn't the EU's failure to retain the second largest European economy an axiomatic indictment of its own dysfunction?

Let me know when there is one where the prime minister resigns within an hour.

I don't think they were about being in or out the EU. France and Holland voted no to the Constitution and I believe Ireland voted against the Lisbon Treaty. That said I am not 100%sure of the facts on this.

>second largest European
>3rd
>MFW pensioners who won't even be around in 20 years sealed Britons faith

Once again, ad hominem. You didn't address a single point. All you did was shout "stupid old people".

Do you work at game?

...

DUDE OLD PEOPLE LMAO

not entirely true

Don't anger Bob Chipman.

>French people didn't know how to reproduce until the New Moors taught them how

Enjoy your first dose of the redpill, it'll only get worse from here.

That man controls your way of thinking that much?

It's a good thing for them. Kike billionaires are getting rekt;

bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-06-24/world-s-400-richest-people-lose-127-billion-on-brexit-chart

massive butthurt from the regressive left and its harder for rapefugees to get in.

You're either too stupid to be out on the Internet without an escort, or you're a Moscow shill.

Fracturing the EU and making chaos is Russia's unicorn wet dream. A unified Europe is what's keeping Russia in Russia.

Seriously, user. You're too fucking stupid to be walking around without a keeper. Get off the fucking Internet.

>Muh spooky Russian boogeyman

Fuck off shill

>Rosenfeld

NATO is what keeps Russia in Russia, not the EU, Mr. Soros.

Yeah, it's called lurking.

>Olly was against it
hah no surprise there, that cunt should go hang himself

do we invest in UK money to turn a profit once it's all over?

Even if some Britbongs hate burgers I am happy that you guys officially started the revolution against bureaucracy

kek

Yes, that's right, all those Russians bombing and shooting up nightclubs. I mean it's not as if they were actively fighting a demonstrably clear and present common danger, right?

You need to stop being fucking stupid. I don't care who is paying you, or how you came to have such incredibly brainwashed worldview, it's time to grow up and admit who the real enemies are and recognize the real existential threats to our civilization. Stop being willfully blind and stop the cognitive dissonance.

If you are going to invest, do it now. Things are either going to go downhill for a very long time or return to almost normal in which case investing will be no better than it was a week ago

Drunk with power

youtube.com/watch?v=juFxBhDSK9s

Look at how he treats a head of state.

brexit = $=0

Cute to see Americans who think they are still in the cold war.

EU is basically NATO but for economy. It's western Europe gibing free money to eastern Europe so they don't have to deal with Russia. Since Bongland left a large part of the pot will be missing. So USA will have to pay the bill because they don't want Eastern Europe to be in the russian sphere of influence.

Its also a free market between all member nations with industry standards that apply to all members

there is nothing wrong with using current year arguements

You're the worst kind of cuck.

I don't think most of us on Sup Forums do, but that is absolutely how the media paints it here.

Fuck off, faggot

We have a serious problem with our education institutions churning out under-educated clowns who are incapable of critical thought.

How the hell would any American government agree to pay into the EU fund? Have you lost your mind?

He's objectively correct though. The only real issue here is if you consider the damage to britains economy and international influence a worthwhile tradeoff for increased sovereignty. I'm sure many do, but the fact is there is no way Britain is going to better economically out of the Eu than it would in it

>the fact is there is no way Britain is going to better economically out of the Eu than it would in it
Source on this fact?
The guys who made the Brexit documentary painted a different picture

It means that the UK will have to pay slightly more than they do now to gain access to the market (EEA EFTA fees are the same than for normal members but there's no rebate). It means that the UK will still have to implement the vast majority of laws made in Brussels, but will have no influence what so ever in their making. It means, that stupidity won.

The fact that the EU accounts for half of all of britains trade, and britain is not going to get a better deal on it now than they were before

"Stay" was supported overwhelming by young people who don't turn out for elections. That's why you can't trust polls with a huge age divide, one of the reasons Bernie lost here.

>Falling for literal propaganda
