Between WW1 and 1934, britain neither disarmed or rearmed while france continued to rearm and the USSR rearmed. Just in 1939, germany cought up in rearmement costs of around 10% of GDP, rivaling the other countries for the first time.

Realistically, if he had avoided Czechoslovakia altogether, then he would have been able to recapture Prussian Poland without an international war. The thing that fucked him was that, except for the Sudentenland, Czechoslovakia wasn't German, and had never been German. Also funnily enough, if your ancestors are german for the last generations, you can go to the foreign office in germany and get an actual old nationality from back then, so saxony, prussia, imperial germany, or 3rd reich (no kidding).
