Fuzz-rock

I need help, Sup Forums. I need more fuzzy rock. You know what I mean. Relaxed, not too aggressive, atmospheric, of a more mellow persuasion, with just walls of static-sounding distortion flooding your ears. Bonus points if slightly psychedelic or trance-inducing. No keyboards, if at all possible. Preferrably late 80s/early 90s. Metal accepted but only if it's not yet another TH clone. Give us a hand, lads

Already a big fan, but not really what I'm looking for.

Welcome to Sky Valley

Thanks my dudes. A lot of these sound very "clean" and shoegaze-y, but keep 'em coming anyway

Toni Halliday is underrated.

Curve is really far away from what I'm looking for, though

I presume you checked out the entirety of FSA's catalogue already? Especially the EPs have songs with a rock structure going. Dave Pearce was involved in other bands with similar sounds aswell.

Yeah, for sure. The whole scene (which includes bands like Crescent and Movietone) is excellent, as is Seefeel, but nothing quite resonates with this static-fuzz-tone-based rock music I'm after. The only other example I can think of is early The Radio Dept, but fine as they are, they're just working on a previously existing blueprint. Still, maybe mentioning that band will help narrow it down. Most Shoegaze or electrogaze doesn't really come close to what I want, which is basically more like those albums in the OP pic

check out Cloakroom.
Music is very fuzzy/hard but still really mellow, vocals too. I like them a lot.

early Boo Radleys is sorely underrated. A bit closer to the Telescopes than to FSA because they have some shouty moments, but overall it's very dreamy and noisy

Same deal with this band. Another underrated debut because of how praised their latter sound is.

what else even *sounds* like Filosofem, if anything? That album's unique as fuck, not even its imitators sound like it

These are somewhat close, I just wish they had that late 80s/early 90s vibe. It's all a bit too new

.....maybe

Try love 666

Sounds interesting

I dunno, I guess it's a lost cause. At least I have 88-89 era Skullflower and Godflesh. They're off the mark for sure, but at least scratch a similar itch
