Cool, a Police thread. It'll be archived within the hour, though.
Let me list all the essentials.
Bring On The Night, Message in a Bottle, The Bed's Too Big Without You, Walking On The Moon, Reggatta be Blanc, No Time This Time, The entire side A of Zenyatta Mondatta plus De Do Do Do, Man in a Suitcase, and Shadows in the Rain. The entire A side of Ghost in the Machine plus One World and Secret Journey, Everything On Synchronicity but Mother and add Andy's Someone To Talk To, and for the debut Roxanne,Can't Stand Losing You, So Lonely, Next To You, Masoko Tanga, and Truth His Everybody
Probably one of the most consistently good bands out there and yet Sup Forums pretends they don't exist.
Bigger question, what's your favorite album of theirs? Pic related is mine.
yeah thats probably true, i have never seen a police thread so i thought i could make one
nothing can beat "Message in the bottle" as a pre-game/get-together song

I was disappointed the last reunion didn't produce any studio work. I'd like to hear what they'd do today.
Walking on the Moon is great. I have such a cozy memory of driving home in a gentle snowstorm the first time I heard it.
I just want a one-off show where they play the non hits, too. I would pay tens of thousands of dollars to be there.
My nig. This song should've been a hit. It's my favorite non hot of theirs. They always did killer live renditions of it and it's one of the most beautiful guitar riffs in pop.
It's one of the greatest opening songs ever. From beat one, Copeland shows why he's one of the best men to ever hit the hi hat. I think they would almost always open their live shows with Message in a Bottle.

I like this one off of the Klark Kent EP. Stewart wasn't a bad guitarist and he does a nice frantic solo here. Also I think this is the solo project that sounds most like the Police out of any of the three members.
C'mon anons don't let this thread die.
never said this before but fpbp
>Synchronicity I
my fellow African American
Ah yeah, the inspiration for Edge of Seventeen.
I really like Masoko Tanga, killer album cut. De Do Do Do is a good pop song. And that ending "eoohh" bit of Every Little Thing is heavenly. Walking On The Moon is still one of my very favourites.

the fact this wasn't on Synchronicity still blows my mind, it's better than Mother by a metric fuckload
Oh my god.
So the better question at this point is what songs haven't we mentioned as favorites? It looks like everybody has mentioned something in the discography.
does everyone stare this way at you?
I only look this way at you
What a shitty cover

my dude yes great song
my fucking nigga
bump.
This has been a pleasant thread. I don't want it to die this soon.
I like their new stuff, like "This Love" and "Locked Out of Heaven"
ROOOOOOOOOOOXANNE
>nobody mentions O My God :(
My dad put me onto these guys like 10 years ago when I first got into music and I love nearly everything they've released. Too bad they're only know for ROXANNE; it's a great song but there are many others that are just as good or better. Many thanks for this thread OP. You aren't a fag for once :)
most of Reggatta de Blanc's tracks are sleeper favorites
The band themselves say that Regatta was their favorite album to make and the one that turned out the best in the end. Reggatta certainly contains their best material but I still give the nod to Zenyatta as their best, that Side A on Zenyatta is killer.
This. Not nearly enough love for The Police on here.
Low Life is one of the best B-sides of all time.youtube.com
Plus Driven to Tears and When the World is Running Down are required to be listened to back-to-back
My fave is Every Little Thing She Does is Magic. A side of Outlandos is one of the most consistent sides to any record but the last three songs on the B-side are not so good.
More importantly, my man Stew is the most talented member of the band
>Best song
Wrapped Around Your Finger (one of the best songs ever written)
>My favorite song
When The World Is Running Down
>Most fun song
Canary In A Coalmine
Fallout
Nothing Achieving
Dead End Job
Landlord
Any Other Day
I love the fucking Police man. Big love. Someone from UK tell me if you guys love them over there? just generally curious because they always seemed so American and are and always were well received over here.
