tbqh, I almost dropped Mad Men after the pilot because it was very on the nose with the workplace sexism and such. I'm glad I didn't, however, because they tone that down as the season progresses, and in later seasons it's mostly reserved for scenes with Joan.

The first season was good though, user. Not sure what you didn't like about it

Gandolfini was notorious for increasing Sopranos' budget in 1 to 5% just with his absurd eating habits. By the 6th season he'd finish 3 plates of food per take, they had to stock supplies and cooks to feed him.
