Scorsese stopped being good after Ragin Bull

not even close

Mean Streets

Overall no, simply because other Scorcese films are iconic masterpieces.

That being said, The Departed is probably his best written film.

nah. it's retahhded.

That's not Taxi Driver

Dude, curse words in a heavy Baaaahston accent lmao

Top 5 scorsese's

>Age of Innocence
>Hugo
>The Last Temptation of Christ
>After Hours
>Silence

HM: The Aviator, The King of Comedy, New York New York

he just has an excellent catalog

best is just a stupid argument

hugo is a good watch if you haven't seen many of his films and want something accessible

It's a remake of film from HK.

>trying this hard to be a contrarian

Yeah, Ive seen it. The Departed is much much better.

Watch Infernal Affairs instead.

Or just choose David Lynch, Isabella Rossellini did.

1. Silence
2. Taxi Driver
3. The Departed/After Hours
4. Last Temptation/Raging Bull
5. Goodfellas/Casino

Scorsese is overrated.

Seen Taxi Driver. It's mediocre compared to The Departed.

>the departed better than infernal affairs

Sup Forums must go back to their containment board, take that white power shit out of here.

Incredibly underrated

but warning PLEBS HATE IT!

Fuck you

He'll never make a better movie than King of Comedy in my opinion

youtube.com/watch?v=j4Rv3kHRQZo

>everyone who has different opinions than me is from Sup Forums

Silence is Christianity propaganda

Pic related is unironically better than Raging Bull.

Taxi driver

it is better, dummy

How come? You're wrong btw

Its actually funny, because I really like Tony Leung and Andy Lau.

Infernal affairs is really good, but Departed is a much better film overall.

>after Ragin Bull
>Ragin Bull
>Bull
>Bull
>Bull

not enough dildos, swearing and killings for you?

I used to think Catherine Zeta Jones in Intolerable Cruelty was the most beautiful woman in the world, until I saw Cybill Shepherd in Taxi Driver.

Infernal Affairs has about 10% of the personality and roughly the same story.

Saw pick related a couple hours ago. I wouldn't call it his best but I thought it was pretty good. What's the consensus on it?

The Departed has basically the same plot but with much better writing, direction and acting. How anyone can prefer Infernal Affairs is beyond me.

Cameron Diaz ruined it. DDL carries it. A lot of people here shit on Dicaprio as well, but I like him in this movie.

I personally love the setting and the sets, everything about it is great, I even like Diaz in it. My 3rd favorite Scorcese movie.

It's a bit uneven but I still like it.

1. Taxi Driver
2. Raging Bull
3. Goodfellas
4. The King Of Comedy
5. Casino

you just cannot dismiss this

I wouldn't call it better than Raging Bull but it is definitely one of Scorsese's more underrated films.

This. Diaz is unbearable.

Because "normies" like The Departed, it won Oscars, and pointing out the fact that it's a remake is a great way to rub their superior film knowledge in everyone's face. I'd make a bet that that user hasn't even seen Infernal Affairs

I don't care about asian cinema.

Why does everyone rate "Raging Bull" so highly? It's good, De Niro was great in it, but they've done at least 4 better films together

For me, it goes:

1. Taxi Driver
2. Goodfellas
3. The Aviator
4. The King of Comedy
5. Casino

Goodfellas obviously

My favorite of his at least, you are not alone OP

My top 5 is

After Hours
Age of Innocence
Casino
Bringing Out the Dead
The Departed

7/10
Would be lower if it wasn't for DDL giving one of his best performances and completely saving it

1. Raging Bull
2. Taxi Driver
3. Goodfellas
4. Bringing Out the Dead
5. The King of Comedy
Silence was great, and I might consider putting it above Bringing Out the Dead, but it might be a little too soon to make that judgement.

Wolf of wall street and goodfellas

My favorite movie. The secret is to completely ignore Cameron Diaz.

Infernal Affairs is dog shit. I saw it before the Departed even came out. Marty turned a lame movie into something memorable.

>I don't see no Americans. I see trespassers, Irish harps. Do a job for a nickel what a nigger does for a dime and a white man used to get a quarter for. What have they done? Name one thing they've contributed.

Watching it again right now because of this thread. The thing that changed Gangs for me was reading the actual book and watching a documentary about the actual people the movie is based on. I know people will say that they shouldn't have to read a book or watch a documentary in order to appreciate a film, but it really helps with this one. There is a lot of detail in the movie that I would have otherwise missed.

Dicaprio was terrible in Gangs, his accent broke constantly throughout the film.

Goodfellas or Taxi Driver. Impossible for me to pick one.

>Departed has better writing
>I ain't no fuckin' rat! Ey, fuck you! You fuckin' rat bastard!
Timeless. Scorsesian if you will.

YOU KNOW WHO LIVES IN THAT APARTMENT?

>tfw you will never direct a scene as chill as Tony Lau and Andy Lau hanging out while being audiophiles.
