Some megacringe to get things going
youtube.com
These people are all legitimately really talented
he had a fun song on commercials
that whole revival in general. turn on the bright lights is shaping up to be the only thing anyone will remember from it
?
Doh!
JUSTLISTENTOTHERHYTHMOFMYHAAAAH
remember them?
It's an outrage.
Nigga please Young Folks is a bonafide classic
Not true, and there were two different movements: the garage rock revival and the post-punk revival. There was some crossover.
Turn On the Bright Lights is a great album, but I've seen Interpol live and they're not good live.
The first Bloc Party album is really good. All of Franz Ferdinand's stuff is decent. The White Stripes are possibly the most important rock band of the entire decade. The first Libertines album is really solid. The Kills had some strong material. The Vines had some good singles. The Hives were a fun novelty band. Yeah Yeah Yeahs are honestly underrated. There were some good solidly indie acts like The Prids and The Raveonettes. In fact, the only bands I can think of, that really do make people cringe in hindsight, are Jet and The Kooks.
Didn't Jack White do that to him? Why?
>Jet
wow, i havent heard or thought of them in so long
This album is on my top 5 of all time tho
Because he's a violent man with a bad temper.

fantastic album
Hot Chip was next level
Travis don't count as 2000s, they were proper 90s filling in with Embrace and Gomez as The Verve and Oasis jumped off a car park together
Pop Punk has aged better than either garage rock, post rock or post punk revival. It feels more genuine somehow, in the same way 60s girl groups are more genuine than prog. Blink 182's 2003 Opus ''I Miss You'' does Arcade Fire better than Arcade Fire.
I wanna start a cultural nihilist post meta ironic 00s pop punk revival project, lyrics melding Fall Out Boy's and Panic! at the Disco's 9th grade wit to Baudrillard Lyotard, Nick Land and Houellebecq
we need another glam metal revival
I disagree strongly on the emo-pop side of things. Bands like Panic! At the Disco even sounded awful at the time. blink-182 had some great stuff, and some of their contemporaries like Sum 41 were fun as well. But by the mid 00s, the pop punk bands were terrible. blink-182 is a great pop band, but the good garage rock revival bands were so much better than that whole "scene" movement that there's really no comparison. In fact, I would say pop punk is actually better now, because of bands like PUP.
I fold, this is so bad
i sill think this is a good album, and the best by the blood brothers
WHO LET THE
Good fucking riddance.
Which is too bad because it's not even their best album and there are at least 10 better bands from that era.
Hell yeah
I love this album! Yeah!
"The 2000s are bizarre because loads of not especially amazing bands really had a good go at it, and it sort of worked. The 2000s were really dad rock naff in an alright sort of way. Compare it to 2016/17/18 none of these people would even cover their first pressing, it'd be imposible." He said.

This. The way I see it, Panic! At The Disco is the future "casino-core," meaning that in the next 10-15 years, the only venues they'll play at will most likely be at Las Vegas luxury hotels where they cater to middle-aged moms screaming their faces off as though they were teenagers. All the signs are revealed anyway; the actual fact that they originated from Las Vegas, their derivative, bland pop rock tunes with a bit of pseudo-emo dripping in for good measure, Brendon Urie essentially being the only member of the band as if he were some solo artist, and the hundreds of thousands of adoring fan-girls who will no doubt be just as middle-aged as Brendon and continuously listen to his music despite the fact that no serious music listener would even remember P!ATD in 5 years or so all lead to the path of boring debauchery and dripping middle-age mom sweat from their shirts. Remember that one episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Malcolm and his family go to Las Vegas, and Lois forces Malcolm to watch some shitty singer do renditions of Madonna songs? That's essentially what I foresee Brendon will become. Hopefully a future Lois takes a future Malcolm to watch P!ATD, and the second a bra envelops his face (like how Brendon fainted when he got hit with a bottle), he ponders to himself when seeing black how his mother became such a huge fan of this terrible band.
No. No we don't.
2003 man. 15 years ago.

not one of those bands, but Jeremy Bolm from Touché Amoré has talked about how his start in music really could have only happened in the 00s, because that's the one time where a band could literally set up an entire successful tour just based on MySpace views and postings. It was one of the easiest times for new artists to break through.
00s indieh is just slightly upscale casinocore
this was in MVP Baseball 2004
it's burned into my brain

I was curious to see what happened to Wolfmother the other day, and turns out they're still going. Who knew?
soy as fuck
soy
soy
the 00s represented the final decay and soy-ification of the white race. Indie is literally the soundtrack to the downfall of the west, ending not in a bang, but in a whimper
ARE YOU HEARING THIS SHIT
These guys have consistently solid discographies.
I dont get this. can you explain it?
desu if POCs started doing rock they could probably revive it.
